  • Fixed the Nest wired doorbell issue
Like most people, I had no idea that 1) the Nest Hello wired doorbell had a battery in it and 2) the presence of an inaccessible battery meant the doorbell had a finite and short lifespan. I found the iFixIt page for how to replace this battery (can't post the link but you can search for it, some informative pics attached here). That was admittedly a bit challenging to read but having now done it I can say it was fairly straightforward. I replaced the battery and let it charge up overnight. In the morning my full chimes are back and the doorbell recording is back. I will never buy another Google Nest product again but I'm happy to spend a small amount to keep this one alive longer. I will come back to update this post should this replacement battery have a short lifespan. ... show more

  • Fixed Google Nest restarting issue
I had an issue where my Google Nest was turning off whenever somebody pressed the doorbell button. I had changed the transformer and wiring...still kept happening. Finally, I found a resource online saying the cause was an internal battery. I used this battery to replace my 4 year old Google Nest's original battery. The battery was slightly different in the original Google Nest. There was a golden film around that battery that was connected to a part of the board. It's taped/glued around the battery so I just took off the tape and rewrapped it around this new one. I think I have a slightly older model of the nest, so this might not be an issue for some. Anyways, the Nest is a bit of a pain to open up, and it won't fit back together as neatly as when it was factory produced. But this battery did the trick and it works like new, which is great. Definitely way cheaper and more eco friendly to spend a couple hours how to take it apart and put back together than buy a new one. Also, because I wasn't able to neatly put my plastic covers on cleanly like it was originally, I highly recommend buying a silicon case to hold your nest in place. I bought this one from a brand called "elago". Less than $15, seals it pretty nicely, and lots of colors. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DJ14B5Q?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details ... show more

  • Installed and working
My doorbell was starting to malfunction. I would either have it not capture movement or the camera would die when it was rung (and the chime wouldn't ring) I installed this and immediately noticed that the doorbell no longer died when pressed but I did not get a chime. I learned that the battery probably came with low charge. After a few minutes the doorbell would ring and the chime would also go off. It's been about a week and haven't had any issues! Saved me a couple hundred dollars from having to replace the doorbell! ... show more

  • The connector is longer that the OEM but you can make it work
The battery serves its purpose, just the connector comes with longer cables that you have to move around, other than that it has worked for me.

  • Breathed new life into my doorbell!
Had to do some surgery to get it in. But the doorbell camera has been working so far with no issues. My issue was the camera would go offline when someone rang the doorbell.

  • This "new" battery was worse than the 5yr old dead one it replaced
Installed this one to replace the internal battery in my nest hello doorbell that could no longer hold a charge. This battery was worse. It appeared brand new but couldn't even keep the doorbell online for more than a few minutes. I can only assume it was old stock that had been sitting for a long time and could no longer hold a charge. Returned and bought a different brand. ... show more

  • Good replacement
This battery was an exact fit for my Nest Doorbell. You will need some kapton tape to secure the battery heating element to the new battery. I also used some RTV silicone to secure the front panel on. The battery took quite a while to take a charge before the doorbell would remain on while it was being rung. I tried ringing within the first 2 hours after installation, and it wasn’t staying on. After waiting overnight the battery finally was taking a charge, and the problem with the doorbell powering off while someone rings it is resolved. ... show more

  • It worked and solved the reboot when the Nest Hello button is pushed
This battery fixed the Nest Hello doorbell rebooting when the doorbell is pushed. Please note, I have the wired version that has a battery inside. It wasn't easy to install the battery despite following YouTube videos and ifixit instructions. It was a pain to take the doorbell apart and remove the original battery. The original battery had a foil attached with wires attached to a part of the board. I would think it's for temp monitoring, but I'm not 100% sure. I decided to carefully remove the foil from the original battery and attached it to the new battery. I used electrical tape to keep the foil attached to the new battery. After the battery was installed I carefully closed the main board to the housing, but the cover was not easy to reinstall. I used several glues but a small amount of glue sort of worked. Luckily I have a silicone cover for the doorbell since I couldn't completely get the Nest Hello cover on. None of this is the battery's fault. It works perfect, but make sure you understand, this is not an easy replacement. ... show more
