Description
Pecking Order’s Nest Box Pads are made from Great Lakes Aspen excelsior wood fibers adhered to a kraft paper backing. The excelsior fibers allow wet droppings to settle down and away from the hen and her eggs. The freshly laid eggs remain on top, not buried, so eggs are easier to gather. The 13” x 13” pads fit inside most chicken nest boxes and make cleaning the next box faster and easier than with pine shavings, straw, or sand.

Working so good in my nest boxes!
After years of fighting with straw and other things to keep my hens boxes clean and cozy and safe for them and the eggs, I decided to buy these. I had trim them on one side to fit perfectly in my nest boxes and that was easy to do with a carpenters knife. I have had to change them out only twice in 2 months completely. I do remove any soiled straw and there has been plenty left in the thickness of these to leave in the box without having to throw them out weekly. My hens love them as much as I do!

Problems solved
I had a issue where I added hens to my flock, my existing hens were using straw in the hen house for 3 years but these new ones kicked all of it out multiple times wasting my bedding. So I got these pads and the new hens kept them where I put them! But after like 2months the pads get torn to shreds, so I added pine shavings and that worked fine as well. I never had issues with poopy pads so I wouldn’t know about cleaning besides just flinging the poop out the door.

High maintenance chickens
I think all and all it is good quality, however my chickens did not like them and moved them out of their nest and picked them apart.

Nice and tidy.
I bought these for my six beginner layers. It was cute , They were so intrigued as soon as we put them in their nesting box they took turns all day long, jumping in and out of the boxes and fluffing them to their liking. They work perfectly they fluff up, but continue to stay nicely shaped and tidy.

Great Hen Nests
My chicken coop has never been better since using these nests!! My chickens used to knock off the hay that we made nests from and it would always be on the ground ( at times the eggs would be covered in feces). Now our eggs are always clean and never fall from the nests. I absolutely love these nests. Rarely need to change them. They stay spotless for quite some time and the hens are producing like never before. No more searching for eggs on the chicken coop floor!

Comfortable for chickens and convenient to use.
The media could not be loaded. This is the first time I am trying nesting pads and this pads pleasantly surprised me. The materiel is much more comfortable for my chickens then the pine shavings I have always used. In addition these nesting pads make clean up a breeze, they have a paper lining underneath which keeps the nesting box clean, just remove the dirty pad and add a fresh one, done. In my video I said wood chips and wood shaving’s but I meant to say pine shavings.
