I purchased this for my college aged, coffee obsessed daughter and she absolutely loves it! Everytime she comes home for the weekend, she uses ours and makes all these fancy coffee drinks so I bought one for her dorm room for Christmas. Our machine cost 4x the amount of this one and I honestly think this one works better. Perfect size, small enough to fit on a small side table in her room since she doesn’t have much room. It makes a perfect cup of coffee or espresso, and comes with a frother which I made sure it has since she’s the only one who uses that feature on ours everytime. Bonus is that it comes with some pods to get you started. Works perfectly, no issues. Easy set up, easy to clean. The only negative I can think of is that it’s expensive to buy the pods this machine requires as opposed to coffee for a coffee pot, but she thinks it’s worth the expense!

I was on the fence whether I wanted to purchase a Breville Espresso Machine or a Nespresso Machine. I have always spent way too much money on coffee shop coffees in the past. I wasn't sure I wanted to buy the Nespresso machine because I bought a Keurig and an Instant Pot Pod coffee/espresso machine and both of those were subpar. They did the job but didn't excel at anything in particular. I ended up giving BOTH of them away to a Christian thrift store because neither machine ended up being the whole package. I was also not crazy that all the Keurig coffee pods were plastic. My life is hectic and after a lot of research, I learned that ANY espresso machine has a MAJOR learning curve that can take up to 6 months on average to learn to make the perfect espresso shot/puck/pull/frothing milk. It's not a task for the faint of heart or those who don't have the time to learn how to pull that perfect espresso shot. So I took a leap of faith and got this Nespresso machine and boy was it worth it. Just like everyone's preferences and tastes are different there are certain pods that aren't my cup of tea, however, there are PLENTY that I absolutely LOVE. This Nespresso machine makes espresso shots that rival Starbucks watered-down drinks. It came with a frothing machine and I had very little research into making the perfect drink to appease my coffee addiction. I would purchase this machine 5x over! Because Nespresso has been around for a little bit there are PLENTY of social media pages and information that can easily be watched to know what the correct portion of syrup you need to make the perfect macchiato, latte, shaken espresso, and cold coffee. I have absolutely no regrets. There are options to make the pods refillable that you can purchase on Amazon however I do not think 1.10 (now if it gets higher than that I may choose the other option) is too pricey for the pod itself. I know that everyone's price range is different that is perfectly fine because there are options for refills if you want that Starbucks experience without having to pay the price. This machine is for those busy people that wake up too late in the morning or only have 5 minutes to get their coffee and go or moms on the go! Do yourself a favor and buy the machine! Watch Tiktok or Youtube if you want to know what pod would best suit your taste. But fear not if you're not into social media like that because this machine not only comes with a frother but also comes with I believe a 20-pack of pods for you to taste them all! A double shot of espresso is my personal favorite and (hot) coffee is my least if I am being 100% transparent but I was never really much a fan of regular hot coffee anyways. Now, the cold coffee with a chiller is a completely different story. Anyways, I hope this helps solve your 5-day dilemma of constantly researching if you are anything like me.

Makes great coffee and much quieter than my old machine. Not crazy about the empty pod catcher on the back because it doesn't hold many pods. But, that aside, I love the machine. And the water canister holds quite a bit, so you don't have to refill it that often.

Long-term review: As an espresso enthusiast, the Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe by Breville has easily become another coffee-making device that sees limited use only for espresso drinks but not coffee. The design and user-friendly interface make it easy to pull an espresso "shot" every single time. The convenience of the pods eliminates any mess or guesswork, ensuring consistent quality with each brew. The good news is that this machine works just as good today as it did when I bought it a couple of years ago! Plus, the included milk frother has come in handy to not only make decent cappuccinos and lattes but also adds a new level to drip coffee made from my other coffee maker. Where this machine falls a bit short is in its ability to brew a stellar cup of coffee. While it's not terrible by any means, the flavor and strength of the coffee it produces are just average. The range of coffee pods seems somewhat limited, and if you're someone who relishes a robust morning cup, you might find yourself slightly disappointed. I had hoped that the VertuoPlus line wasn't just Nespresso's decision to get past it's expired patent for the previous line of Nespresso pods. However, the selection in pods has not met my hopes. I decided not to be adventurous with this one to try re-usable pods like I did with an old, retired Keurig. We now just let this machine sit back as only part of our very specific espresso drink indulgence until I finally splurge and buy a pricier espresso machine. In summary, if your primary focus is on crafting impeccable espresso-based beverages with minimal effort, this Nespresso machine is adequate. But, if you're equally passionate about your daily cup of coffee and seek good flavors, you might want to consider other options. After staying at a friend’s house for a few days and drinking espresso every day, when I got home, my first order of business was to buy a Nespresso for myself. Because of their prices, I decided to give it a shot at a buying a Used - Very Good machine out of the Amazon Warehouse. I am wowed and very happy that the entire Nespresso came in the original package, with plastic wrapped around every single item as if it was brand new, completely unused and I still got the included original coffee/espresso capsules, and I pay less than 50% of the original price for it - ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! The Nespresso is incredibly easy to use and every command is based on how many times you press the one button it has. The Nespresso recognizes each capsule’s bar code, so you don’t have to select the amount of water for each brew. It washes itself, which you are advised to do as a first time user and/or every few days, particularly if after not using the machine for a while. The capsule options that came with it ranges from espresso (1.35 Oz) to Alto XL (14 Oz). I am brewing a Gran Lungo (5 Oz) Arondio on the video. It brews as a full bodied, foamy black coffee, and it is delicious. I most often take my coffee/espresso black, so I haven’t gotten around to using the Aeroccino yet, so I’ll update this review once I have. My biggest con, which is more of an annoyance really, is that the capsules per se, don’t specify their sizes and you kind of have to know which names means what. The sample box that comes with this bundle has the “cheat sheet”, so that simplifies it, but I have been using the Nespresso app as a guide. I bought three extra sleeves of different sizes on Amazon, so I have to keep referring to the App to ensure I’ll brew the right type of coffee. I have also decided that I’ll be ordering the next Vertuo capsules from Nespresso directly as they are the same price, have the same 2-3 day shipping, but mainly for the fact that Nespresso sends you a recycling bag with free return for the used capsules; and I find that an incredible idea. Overall, (so far as I have owned it for 2 days, brewed 3x) I am extremely happy with my purchase and absolutely recommend Nespresso.

I'm so glad I was still able to get this (discontinued?) model. It's the only Nespresso machine I've found with a motorized pod lid that opens and closes automatically, and I really appreciate the added convenience and premium feel. It's disappointing that Nespresso removed this feature from newer models, especially since many customers would likely be willing to pay extra for it. Another reason I chose this machine is its reputation for durability. It's consistently rated as one of the most reliable Vertuo models, with many owners reporting 7+ years of use. The machine feels solid, well-built, and sturdy, while maintaining a sleek design and luxurious look. It definitely feels like many companies are prioritizing lower manufacturing costs over durability, resulting in products that don't last as long as older models. Unfortunately, the shift toward cheaper, less durable products is driven by the fact that more frequent replacements ultimately generate more sales.
