So far, very nice for the price

I was in the market for a new spray gun with a 1.3 mm tip. I had a gift card for Amazon and was searching their site for paint guns. I stumbled across this one, took a chance, and I'm glad I did. I had never heard of Neiko Tools before, but this gun looked nice in the picture, so I ordered it. I was looking for a gun for under $100. The problem with most budget guns is that they all seem to be made by the same cheap Chinese factory. This one is different. The construction seems top notch, the feel is nice, and it really lays down the paint nice. I bought this strictly for clear coat. I've only used it a few times but I'm very pleased. It is also more efficient with the paint than my other hvlp guns. I put the amount that I normally would have used in my old gun into this one. When my project was done I had quite a bit left. The only gripe that I have, and it's small, is the weight. It's a little heavier than all my other guns. I could see where someones arm might get tired if they were painting something big. All in all, for the price, It's a great paint gun.

I bought this to paint a workbench project made from a welded steel frame with US General tool boxes. It works much better than the cheap HF spray gun I picked up at the local store. Highly recommended!

Good beginner gun. Parts?
Style: 1.3mm nozzle
This is the first HVLP gun I've ever bought or used. The price was right, and the reviews were generally positive. I would recommend it for other beginners, with some general words of caution. I don't know a whole lot about the finer points of an HVLP gun, and this one did not come with a lot of instructions, but I was able to find plenty of free beginners guide videos and tutorials. You should definitely read/watch these as much as you can. They help a lot. The gun itself has a pretty good weight to it, which makes it feel solid, but your arms may feel a little fatigued after a long painting session, especially if you're reaching over the roof and hood of a full-size truck like I was. All the adjustments functioned well, although I mainly just used the fan control and occasionally the paint volume. I'm not sure about the regulator. I set it for the pressure I wanted, but most of my adjustments were done at the compressor. It felt a little cheap, and the first time I rinsed the gun with solvent, it reacted with the plastic gauge face, and make it very foggy. But its basically redundant anyways, since you have the main regulator on your compressor and the air control knob on the gun. The finish on my car didn't turn out very well. I had orange peel and runs. Although I really don't think the gun had much to do with it. I think it was the environment (open driveway), the moisture in my compressor (no dryer system), and the clogged passages on the gun from when I didn't clean it fully. My only major complain is that I cannot find replacement parts anywhere. One time I didn't clean the gun out very well, and the air jets got clogged with paint. Eventually I had to rod them out with some wire to clear them, but I think by doing that I damaged the brass tip to where it sprayed unevenly. I never could get it to spray a flat pattern after that. Its completely my fault, but I was thinking I could just buy a new tip for $15-$20 somewhere. Unfortunately parts seem to be non-existent. I would have to buy a whole other gun just to get a new tip (although at $38 it still doesn't break the bank). So after one job the gun is basically a throw-away. My advice for beginners like me: Buy this gun, learn as much as you can, and assume that by the end of your first job it'll be completely trashed. And if you still think you want to do your own paint, then come back and shop for a $100 gun.

Worth it!!

I Normally don’t write reviews; my wife does them all. This gun is well worth the money. Some it’s for smaller projects, but as you can see, I disagree. However this in not a professional paint Job. This is actually my first and only time spraying anything. I did some research not much. One great thing about this gun is that it doesn’t require an expensive compressor. I did however linked 2 25 gallon compressors(not sure if that made too much of a difference). It came with a regulator that works great, but the window on the gauge get foggy. I think that is from cleaning. I think this uses 6-7 scfm compared to 3m which is like 5 times the price and requires a 13.5 scfm compressor. Remember more air less paint and go SLOW. That is the trade off of low scfm. I hope this helps

Sprayer is okay, paint cup is not.

Decent sprayer but the paint cup is terrible. After a 2 uses, the paint cup ended up loosening / breaking the seal at the bottom so now everything leaks out when painting, which also means a shaky cup. Doesn't seem like there is a way to tighten it or reseal it.

Worth the price. Sprays OEM quality.

Sprays pretty good. Got the 1.3mm tip for base and clear coat. Tip did not come with thread locker but it was put on pretty tight. Cleaning was pretty easy since there's less parts (metal to metal seal). Fan control is iffy, it takes a couple of turns before it actually changes in size.
