These brushes are so soft and work great with latex paint. I don't know about any other types of paint, but I'm sure they'd be fine. They don't lose their bristles in your paint can or on whatever you're painting. No brush stroke marks on your project either. Good quality, durable and clean up is a breeze. Wood handles fit comfortably in your hand. They come with a warranty from the manufacturer. For whatever that's worth. Would recommend.

I’m 70 and made a good living turning apartments/brush n roll interiors w basic acrylic latex flat and semi gloss. We’ve decided to paint our interiors and I didn’t want to use my prized brushes (which are still beauts) that helped put me through school. I gotta say these worked just fine and if you know how to handle a brush then nooooo problem. Are they the best dang thang on earth of course not, but look what they cost ! Are you kidding moi ? I used the 2 1/2” mostly and will probably get through the whole house w life still in the brush. There were two bristles that came out and that’s all. If you know how to tape, prep, work clean, brush n roll and clean a brush properly then get ‘‘em you won’t be disappointed. These would be fine for shellac, paints, gesso and other arts applications. High end finishes use a better tool. I found they worked v well w mid range Valspar from the BIG BLUE box store. That said for around $10….I’m getting another 4 pac cause I’m not stupid and u can’t fix stupid !

Update: March 10, 2021. I’ve purchased 2 additional sets. I have found that the time & effort invested in cleaning to re-use the brushes after an oil-based paint does not bring back the original efficacy. The price makes it easier to replace than re-use. On the other hand, I have started using the brushes for latex paint projects and found them to clean up exceptionally well with soap & water. I’ve recently decided to update the old outdated guest bathroom and needed brushes to paint the cabinet. I am not an expert on brushes or painting but didn’t want to spend a lot on brushes and a variety pack was the solution to cover all my brush needs. This kit comes with one large brush for large surface areas and 2 narrower brushes for smaller surface areas and a 1-1/2” trim brush which is perfect for the cabinet. I used the 2-1/2” brush with Kilz Original Interior Oil Base for priming the cabinet and doors. I allowed to dry and later applied a second coat. I’m not the go-to person to ask on painting, but I was impressed by how soft and absorbent the bristles were and how smooth the paint spread on. I also liked not having to look for lost or runaway bristle strands hiding on the paint. As for the handle, it was firm and felt OK. I really felt like a Pro after my husband inspected my work. He liked the paint coverage and was shocked that I had no drips. Yep, NO DRIPS! I would like to say it was "zen" moment where brush and hand worked as one, but the truth is probably the brush is a better painter than I. In a couple of days, I’ll pick up some paint and give you an update. Overall, I’m happy with my brushes and the price.

I really like these brushes a lot. Great value, easy to clean, handles are comfortable/easy to hold, and the variety of sizes are useful. I’ve bought several packs now and have decided to just keep some back to have on hand for any projects I want to work on in the future. For $5.99, you really can’t go wrong. I’ve had a few instances where the pieces will come loose and you’ll have a stray strand in the paint that I’ll have to pick out, but honestly, that’s just how it is with any brush that isn’t high dollar. No big deal for me, though. Cleaning them are always a breeze. I’ve used a pressure washer on one brush to try and remove some dried paint and it’s still going strong in one piece lol. With the right care, you can make these last for a really long time while still looking fairly new after several uses. So as long as you take care of them, the $5.99 you put into these can go a loooooong way.
