It is sturdy and can support my Sony mirrorless camera, but it won't be my goto for overhead videos or talking heads. Like I said it is a solid piece of equipment if you already have the piece to mount it to.

I don't want to say it's unstable, because it's very stable holding my camera and holding onto the pole I have it clamped to. The part that is bouncy is between the clamp and the pole. It will eventually stop bouncing around, though. I am using it for top down photography, so that may be a difference. I tried a Nikon D90 and Nikon D200 with it, and since the D200 is way heavier than the D90, it bounced a bit more, obviously. The clamp tightened to my pole really well. I am not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to this sort of thing since I have never had one of these mounts before, but I couldn't figure out how to attach my camera without swiveling the whole camera around. If someone wants to fill me in on the correct procedure, I would be ever so grateful. This may be great for some lighter devices like a phone, microphone, etc., but it's only ok for something of the weight of my DSLRs. I will still get some use out of it, but had I purchased with my own money, I would return it, unfortunately.

This is a nice Mount Arm, but keep in mind you have to have a vertical tube mount for this to mount onto like a Neewer TL283 Desk Mount or similar. By itself it will not be useful. I happen to have just such a vertical mount and hoped this would prove useful in expanding its capabilities. The Mount comes fully assembled and ready to use. The arm joints are already at a tension that are stiff, but you can still move them around. To me there would almost never be a reason to loosen or tighten them at all. The arms are strong and stable. All the pieces on the arms seem made a good quality metal. I have similar setups that that are tube aluminum where I would never trust attaching an expensive piece of equipment even though the specs say it would hold it. I would not give it a second thought attaching anything to these arms that is within the 3.3 pound limit. The Ball Head is simple yet effective. It can be manipulated to get whatever is attached in almost any position needed. It also seems well made. It does come with 2 adapters you can attach to the head screw to allow other devices that are not ¼ to be attached. It is nice they included these adapters. The clamp itself is strong, holds well and has serrations on the inside, although I really do not see a reason for them. Everything I can think of you would attach the clamp to is typically smooth metal. I guess there could be a case where they would help, but they don’t hurt the grip so it’s fine. One thing I wish it had was a rubber insert or gasket on the inside instead of the serrations like some other similar clamps, but I am not sure it really needs it considering its use. It works great as it is, but you will have metal on metal contact if that bothers you. So I really like this Mount Arm from Neewer. I have a number of other camera related items from Neewer and they always seem to be well designed and made at a decent price point. This one’s main use will be to hold my smart phone over my work area for making videos of the top of the workbench. I cannot really think of any reason not to recommend this product.
