Purchased on 04-24-2024 for $13.99. This cold shoe adapter is designed well with user-friendly features, and its all-metal construction should make this durable. What initially caught my eye was the prominent wing-like nut that fastens the shoe onto the hot/cold shoe base. No thumb wheel that's hard to grip and turn. If you've used basic, no-frills hot/cold shoe adapters, you know how difficult it can be to get your big, fat fingers on a standard thumb wheel, then tighten it SECURELY, then be able to remove that TIGHT nut quickly. If you're like me, it ain't happening quickly or easily. Those wide wings make it so much easier to grip and turn with plenty of torque. No more muttering of choice words from being frustrated when using small thumb wheels. No more thumb wheel that you thought you had tightened enough working itself loose and needing to be re-tightened. The wing screw on the side adjusts the tension for the tilt action. Out of the box, the tilt movement was still very tight even after loosening the wing screw, so I had to adjust the Allen screw on the opposite end to reduce the resistance to my liking. The thumb wheel for the 1/4"-20 has deep, diagonally crosshatched knurls for good finger traction to turn it easily to attach or remove an accessory. Should you want more tightening torque, there are holes on the side of the wheel to insert the included Allen wrench as a leverage arm. The advertised 360° swivel (panning) is not very practical. In order to make it swivel, the Allen screw at the base of the shoe isn't tightened fully at the factory. And because the screw is countersunk, it means that the mount must be removed off of the shoe base for any dampening adjustment, plus you have to have the Allen wrench with you. Not exactly quick and convenient. For me, I don't need panning, so I tightened the Allen screw to lock it in a fixed position. Although I currently don't have a need for the locating/anti-twist pin, it's good to have in case I do get an accessory with a locating hole. The pin is spring-loaded and does sink if pressed, so it won't be in the way if an accessory being attached doesn't have a hole. This gizmo makes it so much easier to attach or detach accessories on the shoe base. I highly recommend it. You'll be happy you got it.

This monitor mount is great! It's so kuch more functional that the ones I was using previously. The "handles" on the locking mechanism make it so much easier to tighten and loosen on a hot shoe. I sometimes need pliers to detach other mounts from a hot shoe, which is pretty dang nerve wracking. This design is so much better and easy to loosen/tighten by hand. The rest of it works great, too! And it's a great value.

I use this on top of my camera for videography and I really love the versatility of being able to change the angle of my lighting. Would also work excellent for a video monitor or microphone that was shoe mounted. Well built with quality materials, and is a good value for the money.

I bought a camera without a front-facing monitor. oops, The mount fits easily into the hot shoe. It's easy to remove it with one hand if necessary. It is quite heavy. Heavier than the camera. So, I use it on a tripod. It wouldn't work for me at first. I got a scrambled screen. Then, I saw another review from someone else using a Lumix camera. I played around with the setting and, now it is perfect. Don't ask me what I did. I can't remember but whatever it was it was relatively easy.

I’ve been through almost every cold shoe monitor mount and finally found the one. This is the most secure, smooth thumb screw and secure swift and tilt I’ve used. Some have trade offs where one particular works well but the tilt always comes loose, or the lint and swivel are great but the cold shoe will not stay secure. The extended cold shoe knob fits my kit well but if you have a bunch of accessories this May interfere, just something to consider.
