This is probably one of the best designed cages for an Osmo Action camera that I have tried. Made of sturdy aluminum it adds little weight to the camera. The cage should prevent most drop damage to the edges and corners of the camera. The lens housing is still open to drop damage. The Action 6 slides smoothly into the cage without catching. The side of the cage that swings open to insert the camera is open giving access to the power button and USB-C port cover. The other side has a hinged door giving access to the battery and microSD card without opening the entire side. Nice, I wish there was a cage with the same design for my Osmo Action 4. Typical designs for the Action 5/4/3 either require opening the cage to access the battery and/or USB-C port. Or if the power button and port are open on the cage the whole other end opens to access the battery and card. There is a 1/4-20 thread and Action mount socket on the side. The bottom of the cage is open allowing attachment of the Action mount adapters. Some would have preferred a closed bottom with a 1/4-20 thread and Action mount instead. The top has a cold shoe socket for accessory attachments. The only cons: the slide to open the battery door sticks out and could catch on clothing or cords and the underside of the shutter button is not padded can could cut into the rubber cover over the shutter button on the camera body.

This is a Vine Customer Review for product ASIN B0G51Y92VX, NEEWER Camera Cage for Osmo Action 6. The presentation of the product is superb. It comes in a nice labeled box, includes an operating manual in several languages, and comes protected inside a zipped plastic bag with a silica pouch in it (see images). This cage is strong, superb quality yet not as heavy as you would expect given its firmness. The camera slides perfectly in through the track rails that are just perfect to keep the camera tight and snug. Both sides of the case open freely and latch back securely by means of a slide button. One of the sides is hollow, the charging port, so there's no need to open that side to charge the camera. The side where the battery compartment resides is closed, featuring a strong magnet and a 1/4" threaded hole for tripods or other accessories. The shutter button at the top works well. I didn't need to fiddle with it by using more pressure than usual to activate recording. It also comes with a cold shoe mount space which is great for several accessories. I would give it a 5 star rating if it didn't have missed on a few issues: - One threaded hole is not enough. They could've included another one at the top next to the cold shoe mount. - There are no holes to secure a lens cap string (see 3 images showing the lens cover) or even to attach a lanyard. For anyone looking for a cage for basic use without needing extra space on it for accessories or lanyards, this cage could work. It is very solid and will provide some protection to the camera.

I have tried a number of cages for the DJI OSMO Action 6, some of been quite good and others perhaps a bit lacking in one feature or another. This cage (AC054) from Neewer is perhaps the best I have tried thus far. First it fits tight to the body of the AO6 without adding much additional bulk or weight, second both sides of the cage open, one to slide the AO6 camera body in and the other to allow easy access to the battery compartment. Having the ability to replace the battery is a big plus in that you don't have to remove the camera from the cage to accomplish this task. Plenty of additional attachments points including a anti-twist 1/4"-20 on the right side of the cage, action mount attachment points on the right side (built into cage) and an open area on the bottom of the the cage directly to the camera bottom along with a cold shoe mount on the top. There is also an optional grip handle that I am considering purchasing that turns the AO6 into a point and shoot style camera. The cage covers all the critical edges of the AO6, provides additional attachment points, and has a level of quality (fit and finish) you would expect from Neewer products. This leads me to consider that this might just be the best cage I have for my DJI OSMO Action 6.

Full Disclosure: This product was received for free as part of the Vine Program. I’ve been testing the NEEWER AC054 Cage for the Osmo Action, and while it features a very "smart" design, there are a few areas where it falls slightly short of the competition. Here is my balanced take: Smart Access: The standout feature is the dual-opening design. Being able to open the cage from two sides to access port covers and the battery without removing the rig is incredibly convenient for fast-paced shooting. Heavy-Duty Build: The metal construction feels very "heavy duty" and provides excellent protection. It gives the camera a more professional, rugged feel that can definitely handle some abuse. Missed Opportunities: Compared to other competitor cages I've seen, this NEEWER model lacks extra 1/4" thread holes and additional mounting points. If you have a complex rig with multiple accessories, you might find the expansion options a bit limited. Refinement Issues: To be a bit picky, the latch/notch used to open the cage feels surprisingly sharp and isn't very smooth to operate. It’s a small detail, but it affects the premium feel of the product during setup. Summary: A solid, protective cage with clever access points, though it’s a bit "lean" on mounting options and could use more refinement on the locking mechanism.
