  • Good quality and value
Size: 80679-12A/12PC
Awesome kit for the price, great quality for the last 3 months, easy to align if you have the camber plates already, no noises or wobbles from my front end now. Just make sure to grease em up before installing. Easy install on my 2004 Ford ranger edge 4x4

Size: 13-1396/13PC
Parts arrived very fast and in great shape. Good Quality and fit perfectly. Totally changed the way my truck rides and handles. I would definitely use Detroit Axle again. Great customer service as well.

  • Works good, please move away from castle nuts.
Size: 80390-12A/12PC
2006 Jeep Liberty (4x4 Renegade, 3.7L) Parts were fine, everything came in pre-greased which was nice. 3 complaints: 1.The lower ball joint did not want to sit completely flush in the lower control arm. It does the job and will work, but I can see this leading to premature wear of that ball joint. 2. I would have preferred a different tightening fastener/tie for the the inner tie rod boots. For one it did not include a tie/fastener for the boot to the arm itself. To be fair, I normally just use zip ties anyway for these boots, so not a big deal in my opinion. 3. Use of castle nuts. The lower ball joint and tie rod end both came with a castle nut to be used with them. At this day and age I feel there is much better options than using a castle nut. I would also recommend that extra cotter pins would be included with the package, as they can be easily lost or if the wrong number is included, can become a pain to find a direct replacement. I don't have any comments for the actual performance of these parts, I didn't notice anything when installing the parts that would lead me to believe they couldn't perform to or exceed OEM standard. I will say the upper control arms themselves seemed extremely well made. The powder coating (I'm assuming powder coating) was very well done. ... show more

  • Great value, parts are good quality!
Size: 12CS59083/12PC
Everything was perfect! Some of the bolts are different sizes so I had to make a couple trips to the store for specific wrenches, but everything fit and was a fantastic value. Hard install, but that's not the products fault. Got it aligned and the shop said good job. Note! You will need to order grease to put into the parts as well as the clamps for the inner tie rod rubber boot. Those aren't reusable. ... show more

  • Great Fit for the 1998 Honda Civic Ex.
Size: 80025-12/12PC
Good fitment for the 1998 Honda Civic Ex. A pretty straight forward install. I also replace the CV axles while I was there since they had started to have a rip in the boots on both sides. I used the Detroit CV axle part number 132W_AX_133W_AX. I sprayed all the nuts and bolts with some PB Blaster a couple times during the week before I completed the install on the weekend. I think this gives you a huge advantage especially on an older vehicle like this. The only bolt that gave me a problem was one of the ABS bolts. It snapped. I had to drill it out and find a replacement. Everything else was very straight forward. Also if you don't have the tools you might need like a "pickle fork" or lower ball joint press, I recommend using the tool lend service from the Zone. Its easy and completely free and will save you a lot o headache. After completing the job I took it for an alignment. Car frontend feels really solid. If it lasts as long as the OEM parts that were installed in 1998 I should be good to go. ... show more

  • Very poor quality and incomplete. Not recommended
Size: 12CS2600236/12PC
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone! I bought this item because it claimed to contain all the replacement components for the worn parts on my suspension; It did not and some of the parts were of such poor quality as to be unusable. First, the stabilizers are unusable, if mine were functional , I would have just left them on the SUV. Instead, I had to purchase a new set of stabilizers from Advanced. My stabilizers were both completely shot, both ball joints on each had at least 1/8in of play. However, the new ones weren't a lot better. The grease boots on the new ones in this set wouldn't stay secured on the ball joint body, the upper one slipped off every time the joint flexed. The grease boots didn't have a retaining lip to keep it in place on a groove on the ball joint body. Thus, the ball joints would be exposed to the Texas dust and dirt, and it's doubtful that these joints would last the year. $30 to Advanced. Next, my steering tie rods also had a bunch of play also. I specifically bought this set because it came with tie rod boots to protect the steering from dust and dirt. However, once I replaced the tie rod ends, I noticed the kit didn't have boot fasteners to secure the boot ends to the tie rod or housing. I thought could reuse the retaining clamp on the small end, so of course one broke. So, $7 for CV boot tie straps and another $4 for snap on clamps for the small end. Look, if you are going to sell a comprehensive rebuild kit for suspensions, ensure that it's complete and that the quality of the components is better than what's currently on the vehicle. This kit was more trouble than it was worth. It cost almost $50 in replacement parts. Of course, now I wonder about the quality of all the other components I replaced. Definitely could not recommend! Update: I received a generic communication from Detroit Axle, no solutions and not even a sincere apology for the extract time, work and money they cost me. Below is a portion of my response to Detroit Axle. "Look, let's be realistic, a really sharp mechanic/diy-er might catch such things as missing boot bands and/or poorly designed grease boots on stabilizers upon the initial inspection. I did not! Once you break one ball joint on your vehicle, your committed to completing the job posthaste. You cannot wait for email exchanges and for Detroit Axle to make up their collect minds as to what to do with you. Given the additional fact that the original shipment was late, it's just better to bite the bullet and re-buy the parts from local parts dealers. Your product was in no way the cheapest option, but, supposedly it was the best fit for what I needed. As it turned out, your offering cost me about an additional day to complete work, I had to drive first to Weatherford (30 miles round trip) and then to Ft Worth (another 96 miles round trip), and about $50 additional costs. Detroit Axle is the expert is suspension parts and knows OEM quality and certainly knows exactly what parts are necessary to complete a particular suspension job. This is simple stuff, and Detroit Axle just seems not to take its customers' needs seriously. If my review is taken seriously, Detroit Axle should benefit in the eys of future customers. As an attorney, it always amazes me how defendant corporations use the information in plaintiff's pleading and actions for their own betterment and then feel that part of the defendant's compensation should be used internally by the defendant corporations to remake itself better and ultimately more successful." ... show more
