A perfect light for close-in photography

I love this light because it’s small, attaches securely to my phone without clips, and produces bright, smooth, color-accurate light at the press of a button. The ability to extend and twist the light allows me to exercise creativity in how I aim the light to create or mitigate shadows, at least to a small extent. It’s rated at 700 lux at a distance of 1 foot. That’s what you would expect in a brightly lit retail store. Given that, at three feet, it would drop to around 70 lux, which is comfortable room lighting at home. Much beyond that, and it’s probably not contributing much to any ambient lighting. TLDR: An easy and inexpensive way to dramatically improve the quality of your close-in photography.

This magnetic selfie light absolutely deserves five stars. If you’re a content creator, this is truly a gadget essential. The lighting is bright, flattering, and instantly upgrades the quality of photos and videos. One of my favorite features is that it has multiple lighting settings, and you can adjust the intensity to your preference. You don’t get that washed-out look from it being too bright, and you’re not stuck with lighting that’s too warm or too cool. The ability to control the brightness and tone makes a huge difference, especially when filming in different environments. The magnetic hold is strong and secure, and it attaches easily to my phone without shifting while I’m recording. It’s compact, convenient, and perfect for quick setups or filming on the go. My only suggestion would be adding a double-sided magnetic feature. It would be amazing if the light could connect magnetically to both my phone and my magnetic tripod at the same time. That added flexibility would make it even more functional for creators who use magnetic mounts in their setup. Other than that, it’s an amazing product. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy, portable way to improve their content lighting.

Bright, adjustable, and portable

This light made a noticeable improvement in my photos, especially in low lighting. The brightness is strong without being harsh, and the adjustable brightness and color temperature make it easy to get the look you want. It’s also very portable. I keep it in a small cosmetic pouch in my purse, and it’s easy to carry around. Battery life has been good so far. I charged it once when I first got it a couple of weeks ago and haven’t needed to recharge yet. It comes with a charging cord and a magnetic ring, which is useful if your phone or case isn’t MagSafe compatible. My only complaint is that it’s a bit thicker than expected, so it can feel slightly bulky when attached and closed. Not a dealbreaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall, a solid option if you want better lighting without a full setup.

I saw the NEEWER BASICS Magnetic Selfie light on TikTok and decided to try it—now I totally get the hype. It’s compact but surprisingly powerful, with multiple light modes that make a big difference for selfies, video calls, or even product shots. The magnetic mount is super handy and holds securely on my phone and other metal surfaces. What really stood out was the lighting quality. The different tones (cool, warm, and mixed) give you flexibility depending on the environment, and the brightness levels are more than enough for personal or casual use. It’s so good that my daughter ended up taking it for her own TikToks—so I’ll probably be ordering another soon. Great light for your pictures

I like the light itself but it doesn’t extend out of the top edge of the phone. In essence, I can only use it as a side of the phone light and that’s not an ideal lighting angle. Also, I don’t like how easy it is to turn it on, so when it’s in my purse, I often find it lit up when it was moving about and the on button gets pressed. Other than that - great little light.

What a cool product! I didn't even know this existed. A very handy LED lighting pod. Super convenient as you can attach it to your phones magnet. There are multiple settings and you can change the color temperature. you can also adjust the intensity. Perfect for selfies and product pictures. I use my phone almost daily for postings on marketplace. Posting items and listing them... this light can add a little extra to my photos to get noticed. It will help to eliminate shadows and fill lighting. It will really make your photos POP! Highly recommended! The Apple flash is helpful, but always results in over exposure. The iPhone flash can always be detected and looks artificial. This fill light will soften things up by adding just enough lighting.
