I used this suction cup on glass, on a car door, on plastic - it holds perfectly everywhere. The main thing is to prepare the surface, wipe off dust and dirt. It doesn't let air through; in the car, on the windshield, it only detached itself after I left the car in direct sunlight in the summer, at a temperature of about 100 degrees Fahrenheit in the shade. I used it for a DJI Osmo Action 4 camera. It's definitely worth the money; it's difficult to detach from the surface because it holds so well. Clamps on anything reasonably smooth. Love the suction pump idea - every suction cup should have that. This thing is solid. It's not at all stealthy if that's what you're going for - but the GoPro sin't a stealthy camera in any way anyway, so there you go. Not sure I'd put this on the outside of my car but that's just me after a lifetime of inferior suction cup mounts for GPS units, dash cams etc. But none of them had a suction pump and I know these get used externally all the time. I'd put a lanyard on it anyway. So far all the Neewer products I've bought have been reasonable quality for the price paid. I don't like to fuss with things - they should just work. And this does.

I’ve been using this for a while with my phone and a small camera mostly inside my car windshield. I’m not brave enough to try and exterior mount yet. One thing I have noticed is that it will come “unstuck” overtime. I’m not sure if it is just due to the heat from the sun outside? Or if that’s just how it works, but I would not rely on this product for a prolonged period of time. Even when I am on a road trip in an air conditioned car, it still “unsticks” itself with no touching or interaction over time. I don’t know if it’s due to the sun changing the air temp where it is suctioned or what. I’ll use it this winter and see how it changes if at all. My standard practice now is when I get in my car, put the mount on and use it and when I get out I remove it. If I leave it on it loses strength or will fall out of the window completely. While freshly mounted, it is very strong and does what I need it to do, for sure.

Would give 10/10. Bought to mount on Jetski. I have had it up to 60mph on the water and 95mph getting pulled by my truck. Stuck solid. Had it on for an entire week and didn’t loosen.

Neewer makes some of if not the best suction cups… I’ve had multiple suction rigs from them and they never failed me. Bought this tiny one for more low-key setups, and it works great! I love the tiny cheese plate on top where you can screw in multiple different thread types.
