I’d say the only thing reviews were correct about is, sitting on the edge will cause you to slowly slip off the bed. Edges are much more softer than the center. I’ve been very impressed with the Nectar Classic 12” Memory Foam Mattress. The medium-firm feel strikes a great balance between support and comfort. It contours nicely without feeling like you’re sinking too much, and it does a great job relieving pressure on the back and shoulders. The cooling top layer is a nice touch as well. I tend to sleep warm and this mattress stays comfortable through the night. Setup was easy (typical mattress-in-a-box), and it expanded quickly once unwrapped. For the price, the quality feels excellent. It’s supportive, quiet, and minimizes motion transfer, which makes it a solid choice whether it’s for a main bed, guest room, or dorm setup. Amazingly easy and so much more comfortable than the mattress it replaced. No odor, inflated quickly. For my size 150ish pounds, it is firm and solid, a little too firm for side sleeping, but I just popped the old topper in cover on this and it is wonderful. If you need extra support around edges because you like to sit and tie shoes, it may not be the best choice, but I am loving it. I think this bed is seriously impressive. It feels amazing to sleep on every single night. The support is outstanding, and I wake up feeling properly supported instead of stiff or sore. The thickness, especially on top of a metal frame, makes the bed sit fairly high, which I actually like. It gives it a substantial, a huge functional feel as we use under the bed as storage now. On top of that, it’s incredibly cozy and i think for me it is the perfect balance of supportive and comfortable. The main reason I replaced my old mattress was the noise and back pain. It creaked every time I moved, and it was constantly waking my partner up. This mattress completely solved that problem. It’s totally silent so far, and that makes getting in and out of bed is peaceful now, and there’s no more disruption during the night. As for weight, it is pretty hefty. Moving it wasn’t the easiest task, but that also speaks to its solid build quality. Overall, it’s been a major upgrade and absolutely worth it. ... show more

    • Nectar does not live up to the hype!

I ordered this mattress based on its good reviews to replace an old memory foam mattress that was about 7 years old. I was also convinced by the risk-free in home trial guarantee that Nectar advertises. Big mistake! I slept on this mattress for several months and found it much firmer and less comfortable than expected. Nectar’s advertising materials say it will break in, but it was still uncomfortable after months of normal use. I was waking up with back pain and soreness, and this affected my sleep quality. I decided to return the mattress using Nectar’s in-home trial guarantee, as it was outside Amazon’s return window. This process was anything but risk-free. Nectar makes you jump through hoops to return the mattress: it takes several emails just to get an RMA, then it must be picked up by their donation partner and inspected, and then they won’t give you a cash-equivalent refund but instead a prepaid Mastercard. I refused this and asked for a check or ACH transfer (which was within their policy at the time of purchase) and they refused. After contacting Resident Home’s (Nectar’s parent company) legal department, I was offered a settlement instead of a refund with a non-disclosure agreement keeping me from giving an honest review. I refused this settlement and was ghosted by their legal counsel. After filing a complaint with my state’s Attorney General, Resident Home refused to cooperate with the AG’s attempts to mediate. I am still owed a refund of nearly $1000, and will probably have to file a lawsuit to get it. I wound up buying a Tempur Pedic Cloud Hybrid mattress and am much happier with it. The quality of Tempur Pedic foam is much better and it costs a few hundred dollars more. I am sleeping better and my back is hurting less. You get what you pay for! Summary: If I could, I would give Nectar zero stars. Do yourself a favor and buy a different brand. Nectar’s mattresses aren’t worth it at over $900, the foam is nowhere near Tempur Pedic’s quality, and their risk-free in-home trial is anything but risk free. ... show more

We haven’t had it for long but this feels like a great mattress so far. Soft and supportive at the same time. Such a great value for the price. However, shipping was a real hassle. Amazon shipped this through USPS. The day it was supposed to arrive, the mail carrier left us a note that said it was too big to deliver. They left this note in the mailbox, not at our doorstep so by the time we got it, the post office was closed for the weekend. Went to the post office during the work day, waited in a long line, and they had the package. Luckily, the gentleman helping me helped carry it to my car. Amazon/Nectar should change shipping methods ASAP, as the whole point of ordering a mattress on Amazon is to have it delivered to me. ... show more

    • Comfortable and nice, just a little too soft

Good mattress. It's true to size, good value for money, and inflated well. It's thick and comfortable too. For me it's a little too comfortable though. It's stiff so you kinda just sink in and get stuck in a hole. It always re-inflates that spot, but it makes it a little annoying to sleep on.
