I was skeptical about this product at first but after using it for three months, my hair has never looked better. I'll say this though - for the amount of product in it, the price could be a little lower but I can't dictate how it should be valued so I just have to stay mindful of much I use it.

I ordered this hair mask expecting a "night" mask to be an overnight treatment, but that's not what this is. Instructions are to apply to hair and rinse out after 3-5 minutes. Okay. So if I want to use this at night for the 'dream' benefits I either have to a) dry/style my hair immediately or b) go to sleep with wet hair (not a huge problem in summer, I do that regularly - but winter? no thanks). So that leaves applying as a regular shower intensive treatment. As an intensive treatment this works okay. It's a very thick lilac-colored cream that I had no problem getting out of the jar and it stayed on my fingers as I worked the lid back on the jar (yes, that requires some hand gymnastics). It's got a lovely scent that I love, but for my wavy hair it wasn't moisturizing enough. I applied in the shower, turned off the water, and daydreamed for 5 minutes about how I'd reno my bathroom... Anyway it rinsed out easily but didn't feel any better in my hair than my usual conditioner while wet. It didn't really tame my frizz when my hair dried either, but it did seem to hold slightly more wave, so I guess that's a positive. The scent after rinsing is there but as another reviewer mentioned, you have to stick your nose in your hair to actually smell it, certainly not strong enough to really alter my mood or relax my mind or anything else I'd expect from a 'dream night masque'. While I love the scent I would not order again. It's not a bad conditioner/masque, it's just not a standout.

I've never used a hair mask before and was interested to try this out. I honestly didn't have high expectations, I figured that I probably should use regular conditioner before I use this because this might not work as well. And then I changed my mind because I should see how well it works on its own. I washed my hair first and then applied this to let it soak in. It has a very pleasant smell, I love it, and it's not too strong either. just a pleasant floral fragrance wafting around my face. After about five minutes I rinsed it out. My hair was very easy to comb afterward (it can often be hard to comb out, wet or dry) and I still had a faint bit of that lovely fragrance. After it dried I have found that it really has cut back on the frizz, my hair is very tame looking and it has helped define my curls more too. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the fragrance didn't last once it dried. I can smell it when I stick my nose right up against it, but I wish it were a bit stronger. But that's a good problem as I can just look forward to my next time using it. Overall it's a very pleasant smelling hair mask and worked very well for my hair. UPDATE (NOVEMBER 2024): I am still LOVING this hair mask. It makes it so much easier to brush out, hydrates it well and it's scent is still FABULOUS.

This review is for: NatureLab Tokyo Perfect Dream Night Ritual Hair Masque | With Mood Enhancing Fragrance | 200ml / 6.7 Fl Oz I'm not sure if I'm just from a different generation but the price tag for this product was much too high for me which brings down the star-rating for me. It's scented beautifully, and it does leave hair quite soft (for reference, I have color-treated/bleached, coarse, straight hair). But to me this was very comparable to a product that I already use that I can get 3x the amount for the same price point. If you have greasy hair, or a greasy scalp, I'd steer away from this product as it will weigh your hair down and make them greasy within the day. I only used on my ends and I felt I didn't need a leave-in product and my hair felt soft and clean.
