  • Size - 30 pounds contains 4-9 size stones, and is recommended for tanks 10-15 gallons depending on your desired look. Hakkai is a very heavy stone and requires more weight, compared to other stones, to fill your tank. Increase weight ordered for larger tanks or for a fuller appearance.
  • Natural Stone - You will receive stones similar to the image shown, however each piece will differ slightly due to natural rock varying in shape and size. Can be glued together to create cliffs, benches, walkways, or used as miniature boulders.
  • Safe for Aquariums - Inert and won't change water parameters, but stones require a thorough rinsing prior to use.

Description

Hakkai Stone is a premium dark bluish-green stone that features smooth edges and a river stone appearance. This aquascaping rock is adorned with irregular holes that make this stone look as though it has been partially consumed by bugs, giving it the nickname "Bug-Eaten Rock". These holes are produced slowly over time and are caused by natural erosion. Due to its unique looks and interesting character, Hakkai Stone, also known as Pahai Stone is highly sought after by planted tank enthusiasts throughout and is still a rare commodity in the planted aquarium hobby. Its dark coloration is sure to pop against colorful aquarium plants and in river bed style aquascapes.

The product itself is fine and visually matches description. However it didn't seem like a large quantity. Order placed for 10lbs of stone, yet the shipping weight is only 7lbs. Overall disappointed in the purchase.

I got 10lbs of the elephant skin stones for my 5 gallon Fluval tank that houses my veil betta (first time doing a planted tank). Great size pieces and I used all 10lbs as I wanted the tank to have a lot of texture. The only thing is the rocks were a bit “dull” orange-y/ grey in color and not as “white” as they appear in the stock photo. But I still like them and would recommend them. ... show more

If you want more than 4 rocks, don't buy these. (see photo - scissors for scale) They arrived on time and in good shape, and they are black lava rocks; however, they are not the variety of either quantity or sizes advertised, which is why I'm leaving 2 stars. As seen in my photo, I received 3 huge rocks and one medium-small, for a whopping 4 total rocks. In the advertised photo from seller it shows about 15 small to medium rocks. I could break them apart, but that creates sharp edges, which is extra work to file down and changes the shape of the rocks. I was hoping to finish this project before my classes start in a week, so I don't have time for that. I have to change my whole concept now, and luckily I'm creative and can make something different work, but I don't appreciate the misleading photos from the seller. I could've avoided this hangup if the details were more representative of the amount of rocks provided. The local stores here only sell red lava rocks, so I'm SOL and of course not willing to buy again from this seller. That's for sure. ... show more

The rocks are all a good size and each unique. They don't crumble, clean up nicely. However, they're not nearly as white as I would have expected them to be. Two are red. If I had to do it again, I would.
