Update: The logs are letting off more debris than what I would assume a gas log should. Also the logs are turning black. I just wonder how long they will last now that the debris is falling off with each use. As shown in the third photo. The first two photos are before the third is after a week of use. I ordered these logs because they were bigger than most. My lava rock bed gas fire pit is over 2 ft in diameter. I thought the logs were a bit pricey, but I went for it. Wow! These things are great! First of all, they are very light weight. They almost feel fragile because of the light weight. There are 5 styles of logs, 2 per, for a total of 10 logs. You can stack them up however you want. When seen in the day, let's face it, they look like fake logs. There is just no way around it. But at night, that is when the magic happens. When I light the burner, the flames are pure blue and you think, OK, that looks nice. Nothing special. Wait...after about 10 minutes of warm up, the logs glow a beautiful orange on the bottom and the flames turn yellow. After 20 minutes, the logs are fully warmed up and it really looks like a real campfire burning! Without the smoke! I have had several folks over for an evening on the new patio and they all comment about how realistic looking the fire is. Love these logs and would buy them again! Worth every penny.

We decided to switch from wood to gas this year. Wood is great, but tired of always fighting with the arrangement, hauling in wood, and having to order and store wood for burning. We wanted a decent sized arrangement, without spending a fortune, and "wood" look nice and natural. This met all our criteria. First, make sure you have a proper setup with the burner, sand, and ember. We actually did our own setup using an old aluminum cooking pan for a pan, as the gas setup was what came with the house when we bought it. The most difficult taks was finding the right setup to look like a real fire. This means stacking, re-stacking, and stacking again. I might think this is an issue, but this is a one and done, not like a real wood fire which means constant care and feeding throughout the evening. All I can say, is it was worth the investment. Pros: 1. Arrived nicely packed, as advertise, without any broken pieces 2. An assortment of large and small pieces 3. Seems to be holding up with almost daily use, and we've been using well over a month 4. Reasonably priced Cons: 1. First time stacking and racking, took some time to find the best setup

I don't know how old the old logs were, but they were as heavy as concrete. So when I got these and found they were hollow and about 1/20 the original weight, I tried to keep an open mind. Install was easy. There's hardly any differentiation between the thicknesses of these logs. There's 6 different molds and two of each mold. And no matter how I stacked them, they just look... so meh. The flat bottoms are fake looking and impossible to hide. That said, it's WAY cheaper than my options at Lowe's or the local fireplace store. So I'll use them until it aggravates me enough to buy better ones. If i had it to do over again, I'd spend a little more for something better than these. But I'm happy enough for this winter at least.

These logs are VERY light. MUCH, MUCH lighter than the ones I currently have. Lit them up under the gas pipe at our vacation home and they provided a nice glow -- but not much heat. So, these are mostly for ambiance but not so much for retaining and bouncing off heat. Whether these hollow logs will last remains to be seen. I will probably return them for something pricier because we need these types of logs to give off heat to warm a cold mountain home in the winter in case of a power outage.

Due to the high fire danger in California, we had to replace our wood burning fire pit with a propane fire pit. While the propane fire pit is nice, it just didn't feel like a real fire. I was looking for ceramic logs to add to the fire pit and after searching several options, this set appealed to me due to the fact that it had separate logs you could arrange in any configuration. I got the logs several days ago and am totally satisfied. They are lightweight and easy to arrange on the firepit, and when the flames are on it looks like a real fire! The logs also retain heat, and although not as hot as a real fire, you get the warmth that was not happening with just the propane jets. I highly recommend this log set if you're looking for a way to transform your gas/propane fire pit into something that feels more like a real fire.
