It’s just like fabric rug material so it’s all wrinkled on the floor. My doggies hair stick to it and if you want to clean it good luck. It doesn’t look good by my wood stove.

A lot of people complained about the shininess but this works as intended and we only put it out when we are using it it’s not a permanent feature, if you want a permanent feature maybe invest in something more than $14

I haven’t actually used this mat yet, but I’m contemplating sending it back. I’m sure it is useful and effective, but it is ugly. I guess I should have read more reviews before I bought it, because a lot of people are saying the same thing. It is rubber. Plain, black rubber. I will maybe give it a try because I am trying to protect my cowhide rug….so maybe I’ll come back with a different review.
