The fuel is a bit pricey, but you really can tell the quality is better than a lot of what you find in the box stores.It doesn't help the pricing either that it is a heavy item. Sure it is free prime shipping, but I'm sure the cost of shipping such a heavy item is built into the price. The mfr needs to find a way to get this out into more stores so that they don't have to recoup shipping costs on a heavy item and it can be purchased at a lower price point. It really is a great product compared to most of it's competition. The oil burns slowly with a lower smoke level than many of the box store oils, and the smell is not offensive. It does help keep the mosquitoes and biting bugs away fairly well. It is best to have multiple torches set up in a sort of ring or box around where your group will be hanging out. If there is a strong breeze the smoke will be rapidly blown out of the area and not be as effective, but this is an issue with any type of torch repellent fuel. I like this oil and will continue to purchase it in the future.

This fuel is not just for Tiki Torch it works great in lamps too. I use in my 3 Dietz lamps and no smoke, no kerosene smell, bright flame. Slight hint of a pleasant citronella smell. One filling lasts almost 7 hours! It does cost more than other brands, but worth it not have the kerosene odor.

The oil works great and I combine it with my own scented oils. I bought the 5 gallon container so I could easily refill my torches. The spigot for the 5-gallon container is a turn style. i.e. you turn one way to open and turn the other to close. Not the biggest issue in the world, but I would much rather have had the spring type spigot that shuts off when you release. When you're filling a dark container, it is sometimes hard to see how full it is and by the time you do, you have to quickly turn the spigot off. I found that I spill it on my hands and on the floor more often than not. 5-gallons lasts me a fairly long time. I wouldn't be out now (months later) if it wasn't for the fact that the container leaked all over the inside of my outdoor cabinet, essentially ruining the inside of my cabinet. TL:DR - Oil good. 5-gallon container bad. Get the smaller versions.

The first time I bought this oil, I only bought a gallon just to try it out. The second time, I went all in with the 5 gallon and a monthly renewal. This stuff burns so clean and so much longer than the tiki brand that I'd been using. (The second photo is on top of my swamp cooler, under my gazebo because I wanted to show that there are no soot marks on the underside of the gazebo!) It ends up being cheaper because it lasts so long. We have 12 torches in our yard and are swarmed with mosquitoes all the time so I burn them day and night to help keep them at bay. I'll never buy another oil. And buying from a small business owner in the USA, makes it a no brainer!
