I am blown away by the 3 pieces I just received. One is particularly large, like an arch, and it is going to be the centerpiece of my bookshelf shrimp tank. All 3 pieces were beautiful, and each of them had clean, flat cuts on at least one surface that makes it easy to stand them up on their own on the table to I can plan the aquascape ahead of time. One piece stands straight up like a pillar, and the other connects seamlessly to the large arched piece to extend the driftwood structure. I am beyond pleased! I had ordered smaller pieces for a different tank previously and was equally happy with this seller. I will definitely be ordering from them again! I am currently boiling the new pieces to release some of the tannins and start waterlogging them. If Amazon allows me to add photos later, I will update my review with a picture or two to show the arrangement. Obviously each piece of wood is unique, but based on 2 purchases from this seller now I would 1000% recommend them if you're looking to purchase some driftwood! ... show more

Perfect driftwood. Super pretty, and in great condition. I used them in my fish tank after boiling them and they are perfect. I have one in my beta fish tank for the tannins and the other two in my goldfish tank but I want a smidge more natural look. They stayed upright how I wanted them and the size was exactly what I asked for. I will use this seller again when I upgrade my tanks next year! ... show more

Love these but I was under the impression that they were ready to put in my fish tank but no you have to either back them or boil them to get out the tannings which really a pain in the butt but after it’s done then your good and have a plus to the tank !!!!! I did it a couple times. Need to fine a pot big enough also repeat the boiling over and over. Random chunks of wood. I soaked it for 24 hrs per reccomendations, and it still had a lot of tannins left in the wood to tint my water coffee brown. Harmless, but annoying. I pulled wood and soaked it for about 3 more days changing the soak water out until it stayed clear. Looks good in the tank. Pieces will be different then pictured. ... show more

First, I like this (Mopani) wood. I like the sizes, shapes, burl, texture, and the color. There is one huge thing to be aware of, however, this wood is absolutely *loaded* with tannin. I have boiled three 8” pieces at least six times, two hours or more each on each occasion, and each time I change the water, the liquid’s color is roughly that of prepared tea. If you like black water tanks, this is the perfect choice of wood for you. If you want the wood to not leech tannin at all, you will have to thoroughly boil this wood *many hours or even days,* ideally with periodic water changes. The wood itself will likely lighten in color over the course of the boilings; mine certainly has. I'd also advise against buying a piece too large to boil. Soaking the tannin out in room temperature water would take much longer than boiling, and at some point I want to see this in my aquarium. ... show more

So it looks great, but i boiled both pieces as instructed and the tank was cloudy the next day. Tested the water after a couple days and parameters show ok. Just slightly cloudy and discolored. Mainly from the tannins. Id recommend boiling multiple times instead of only 1 hour. I glued the 2 pieces of large mopani driftwood together and added java moss to make a nice centerpiece. KEEP IN MIND, MINE WILL NOT SINK. These will float unless you weigh them down which sucks. I was going to move my lava rock but i can’t. Maybe it will stay after a few weeks but it’s been days and will still float if i move the rock. ... show more

nice pieces of wood. if possible, I advise boiling the wood to remove the tanins. The pieces that I was able to boil, are leaving the water nice and clear. The one that was too big to boil has definitely leached tanins into the water and the water is looking cloudy.

Very happy with the size, and uniqueness of these pieces. I boiled mine for 3-5 hours, then soaked in a bucket for a few days. For price and quality, I would give 6/5 stars since it was beyond expectation. Tannins have mostly gone but you can see in one photo that one piece needs to be temporarily weighed down to prevent floating. No biggie. ... show more
