This Downswept Douglas Fir tree is 4.5 feet tall and has a 38 inch diameter base, creating a slimmer profile and making it a better option for those with limited space. Molded from real tree branches for an authentic living tree appearance, this tree features our trademarked ‘Feel Real’ technology. Hundreds of crush-resistant polyethylene tips form full bodied branches, creating a tree with remarkable realism. The tree is designed with a hinged branch system that allows the branches to swing down for a quick and simple set-up and fold back in for easy storage. Set aside 45-60 minutes after assembly to properly shape the tree by peeling back the branches and pulling the tips apart to give the branches a more full-bodied look. I was skeptical ordering an artificial tree online, fearing it would look "cheap". Not THIS tree! It came in two sections in the box, and all the tips were squished together to fit in the box. So I was still unsure how it would look when assembled. The stand is very sturdy, the top and bottom strings of lights are separate and connect together with plugs. The trunk and branch wires are thick and also sturdy. The bottom section is hinged and fall into place. The tree itself is easy to assemble, but I did not include arranging the tips in this 5 star rating. Arranging the tips is very time consuming (depends on how picky you are... I am) but the results are worth the effort. It looks real and is gorgeous! Plenty of lights... I didn't need to add extra ones. The tree looks better than the picture. I love the look of it, and highly recommend this tree to others. You won't be disappointed! ... show more

I’ve always been a live tree purist, but physical limitations have made it increasingly difficult to shop for a tree of manageable size, bring it home, lug it in, fight with the tree stand and the lights, water it, and then dispose of it after the holidays. It finally became more than I can manage, so I decided, with some misgivings, to try an artificial tree. After reading a ton of reviews, I selected the National Tree 4.5 foot "Feel-Real" downswept Douglas fir with 450 multi-colored lights. I’m very pleased with it. It was a bit heavy, but I’m able to manage it on my own. I’ve never even seen an artificial tree unassembled, but it was quite simple to set up. I took my time, fluffing up each tier of branches as I went. Now that it’s up and plugged in, you’d have to look closely to see that it’s not real. In fact, it looks more real than some of the live ones which have been pruned into an inverted cone shape. The branches are full enough to block the view of the hinges, and the trunk is wrapped in a pine-needle like covering to blend in. Even the coloring and the feel of the tips is lifelike. It’s very pretty and natural looking, and the lights are perfectly distributed. It’s pretty enough that I would be happy with it as is, but I’m looking forward to seeing it fully decorated. There’s actually enough room to hang the ornaments, not just perch them on the outside. I set it up on a 16-inch high coffee table so I don’t have to bend over much to reach the bottom, and I can just reach the top of the tree (I’m 5’4” tall). If you’re feeling hesitant about switching to an artificial tree, based on my experience with this tree, I’d say, “Go for it!” ... show more

This tree is so beautiful! I love the two types of branches because it makes it look more realistic. What I love most about this tree is how many lights it has, and the colors of the lights. Having blue, green, red, pink, yellow, and orange makes it feel very vintage because a lot of trees now only have a couple colors or are LED only, but not this one. The tree is very stable and fluffy, and it has a great shape once you fan all the branches out. It’s hard to see the middle of it which is just what you want. The lights are not just on the edge of the branches but also at the base which gives it more depth. It’s perfect! ... show more

I actually purchased this for use next year but assembled it to be sure that everything worked. There were sufficient instructions, and the assembly was easy. All the lights seemed to be functioning. It is very pretty (but also very small). Not that it was different from the stated size, but think of it more like a Christmas "bush." I will be looking for some sort of platform to stand it on. ... show more

I was so impressed with this tree. For the money- this is has an amazingly life-like look and feel. Setup is very simple. Lights are very bright. Overall- I would definitely buy another. Great for my small room and my cat loves it too.

I realize proportions are a matter of taste. To me, this tree is the perfect shape. It is short, 4'5", but that's what we wanted. The width is perfect for it's height. The tree was easy to assemble. This being the first time out of the box, I took a little more time than usual to fluff the branches. Once they were fluffed and the ornaments are on it, it's beautiful!     • Defective and no instructions

I ordered this same tree 3 years ago and every year we had problems with the lights going out. I ordered this tree which is the same National tree company, but a more expensive one that said, "when a light goes out the rest stay lit". Nope. Just put it up and the entire bottom limbs, the lights are out. Nowhere on the box does it say that the rest of the lights should stay on if one goes out. There is no information in the box and no instructions! All there is is a couple of little bags with extra lights. I am having company this weekend and wanted my tree up and decorated, but that's not going to happen! Stop carrying products from China! Everything I have ever bought that was battery operated or electric was defective. I cannot give a star rating on this product. ... show more
