I've had this laptop for a while so I can give an honest review. This was a properly refurbished product. I have had zero issues with it since I got it. Only thing I dislike, is the processor isn't compatible with the Windows 11 upgrade but I will probably just put Linux on it after end of life support anyway. I was skeptical of buying any refurbished product because of my luck with such items in the past, but this was a good buy. I would purchase a similar product again in the future. ... show more

I have had this computer since June 2023, so it has been a few months. Initially it was working fine with regards to speed and storage, which is what I needed because I was replacing a Chromebook. From the start I had issues with keys on the keyboard, so the butterfly mechanism on one of my keys broke within the first month but that was not necessarily an issue because I don’t use that key too often and if I need to, I’ll just use the touchpad on text, but it was still inconvenient. but now, whenever I try to turn it on, it shows a screen (pictured) or the options are the boot up manager, or running diagnostics, the links next to boot manager, and the boot manager button itself just defaults back to the menu, but I can run diagnostics through the app menu, results also pictured. The issue seems to be with the hard drive, which i don’t know how to fix myself and would be costly to replace, making the purchase of this laptop not worth it :/ As i a side note, the timing is horrendous because it’s currently finals season. ... show more

Ordered it for installing Linux for a personal project. Tested with CentOS, Rocky Linux, Arch Linux, Ubuntu 20.04.2, SUSE Tumbleweed. The worst is Arch Linux, what a POG it is, had to change code for un-encrypted disk during install. After install, there was no vim, promptly deleted it. CentOS said no wifi device after install. SUSE's KDE plasma desktop looks sweet but it was keep going to hibernate, and ssh access was breaking. I tried many things to prevent it but didn't work. Finally went back to Ubuntu 20.04.2, working perfectly. I needed ssh access all the time without the laptop going back to sleep, Ubuntu works perfectly by default., there was no need to muck around with WakeOnLan etc. mdns (avahi) also works out of the box in Ubuntu. Got my product in October or November. The serial number is not on it and I have not idea what the serial number is. The laptop will no longer turn on and does not seem to charge at all. I cannot get the extended warranty company to help. They say it is under warranty. I cannot get anywhere with Lenovo since I do not know what the serial number is. The serial number is not on the out of the product. I am at a loss. ... show more

If you like being frugal and are content staying behind the obsessive technological curve, buying older (and used) tech can be very appealing. This ThinkPad T460 was hardly indistinguishable from a new machine cosmetically, with only some *very* minor blemishes. For me, this device was a great compromise of value and performance for my needs. I even game on it, although to be fair it's not going to run the latest titles. But it's more than serviceable for many games that don't stretch hardware as well as emulation. I stripped down Windows 10 to the bone and deleted all the bloat and intrusions and set up a dual boot for Linux (my preferred OS). When all was said and done, I had a versatile, lean and efficient machine in the notoriously durable ThinkPad form. Very happy with it. ... show more
