  • A very surprised compromise
I did all kinds of research on all of the latest "artificial trees" and was totally amazed by how wonderful they really have become. My only regret was not opting for a 9'. The 7 1/2' comes in 3 parts and a base. Put it together by myself (5'0" 55 & disabiled) in about 1/2 hour with some figiting for a few days after. Normally a 14 year old could have done it in 15 min. Beautiful tree model (the "Downswept Douglas Fir Tree) as were many others. The "Feel-Reel" does make it real, it holds ornaments that a real tree couldn't hold, stays in place (but you could move the whole tree if needed without much hassle). I love white lights, my husband loves the multi-colored so we got a tree with both options which seems to add approx $120-$150 so I would suggest that you try to work out your differences, but we planned to keep this as long as possible so we went the whole way. The bottom 2 parts are hinged and just fall open and then you can arrange the smaller branches to your liking. Read the instructions, they are short and worth it. Turn the lights on before you seperate out the smaller, unhinged branches so you can arrange the lights evenly. I saw some for $5,000 and some for $50, this is perfect for us. I would suggest getting a storage bag to store it in. It comes down easily, the hinged branches just collapsed and the smaller branches you just kind of "squeeze" the smaller ones together. This has 750 lights, I believe, which was enough, although they had some with up to 2500 lights (that would be way, way too many). LED lights put out a brighter light, so you don't want your tree to be drowned out by lights. And the greatest part was not having to deal with spacing lights or putting them on at all!!! Pick out the type of tree you like. We always had real trees and lived in the Pacific NW. Lots of comments from everyone and we didn't even put as many ornaments as usual and no garland. The tree alone was just beautiful. I might have gone for one with some "snow" on it but it seemed to come off too easy and had a weird smell. One person pointed out that it didn't go around while in its stand but that is a designer overkill to me. This is a perfect substitute for a real tree with a lot of benefits and only two things missing...the smell and the going into the forests and picking your own out, but as you get older and/or the forests are too far away this is great! I suspect the prices will drop a bit next year. Amazon Prime had great prices and instead of only one type of tree with one size, they had a small selection that came from their own warehouse. It arrived in perfect condition 5 days before expected. I reserve 5 stars for absolutely spectacular items and ideas. Had this been the first year they had come out it would have been a "5". Keep extra bulbs and fuses and look at the warranty. Don't get one with less than 2 years, but don't expect one with a 10 year warranty either because people don't always take care of things and then blame it on the manufacturer. I owned one other "fake" tree 25 years ago in S. Calif. we only used it 2 years and gave it away. It was a nice tree but nothing like the new generation of artificial trees. I don't want to take it down! ... show more

  • Wow!! Beautiful tree!! Wow!! Beautiful tree!!
Size: 7ft 6in
I’ve always had a real tree… being a recent widow, I decided I didn’t want to deal with a real tree any longer. I did a lot of research and finally decided on this tree. It just arrived (three days before Christmas). My only regret is that I didn’t order sooner. Before I ordered I watched the company video on how to set it up and that is what sold me. It was so easy to put up. It does take some time to fluff all of the branches. I spent about an hour - then I stepped back and saw holes, so i fluffed some more. Then I took a picture and saw more holes, so I fluffed some more. The more you fluff the better it looks. In all I spent less time fluffing this tree than I would have spent picking out a live tree. It’s very realistic looking - there are two types of branches which, IMO, makes it look fuller and more realistic. There are tons of lights on the tree and you can set the lights to color, white, and numerous combinations of flashing, fading, steady etc. The video suggests fluffing the top section before putting it up - I would agree that would be easier, but does require two people - one to hold and one to fluff. I put it on and used a step ladder to fluff. There is a plug at the top for a tree topper. The cord is plenty long enough to reach my outlet without an extension cord. I ordered the 7 1/2 foot tree and it is much bigger than I expected - I absolutely LOVE this tree…..next year I will put it up early do I can enjoy it longer!! ... show more

  • Great looking and efficient!
Size: 7ft 6in
If you are wondering just how much power this tree really uses, I've measured it by putting a digital power meter right onto the extension cord that powers the tree. I measured 16.6 watts while the tree was fully lit with white LEDs and 14.4 watts while the tree was lit with the multi-colored LEDs. Both numbers are incredibly low!! Lower than a single compact fluorescent lightbulb and certainly lower than a tree like this with regular lights (about 250 watts for 750 bulbs fully lit). These LED bulbs are cool to the touch and the whole thing is powered by a relatively small dongle that's about the size of the one from an iPad that also remains cool. The stems on this tree are much higher quality than my prior tree which was also one of the best I could I find in the 1990s. Very nicely molded plastic with a very realistic look. The interior stems are the green-paper-like bristles that my prior tree was entirely made of. The interior stems are just to fill out the look so that it doesn't look hollow. I was concerned at first but once the main stems are fluffed out and the ornaments are attached, there is very little empty space shining through this tree. The exterior branches also fluff out very nicely because the main branch has 3 sub-branches that can spready quite far. Each sub-branch also has a bunch of individual stems that can be pointed in any direction. I've only had this about 3 days so I can't comment on the durability but based on my last tree that had comparable construction, I expect the tree itself will last a very long time. I'll try to come back later to update this post in a few years to comment on how quickly the individual bulbs are failing. My only complaint so far is a significant one but I might come up with a hack to solve it. The timer I use to turn the tree on and off is unabble to restart this tree because it always starts in the OFF position. The toggle switch for the tree goes from OFF-White-Color-Off. I was going to rate the tree a 4 star because of this but when I measured the power, I decided that it could be lit 24 hours a day with no significant financial consequence. ... show more

  • Nice Tree
Size: 7ft 6in
When I was a child, my family had a tinfoil tree with the rotating three color ight. I promised myself in my adult life that I would always have a real tree. Well....we did for 45 years, but now with covid, tree prices and the difficulty of handling an 8-10 tree and 65 years old, I gave in. The tree arrived a day early. I made a 30" x 30" x 10" wooden box base to lift it off the floor so that it's easier to place gifts under he tree. The tree is heavy, so don't try to move the box around much. We opened the box and moved the three sections one at a time. It went together easily and my wife made quick work, unfolding the branches. It probably took about an hour and worked better with gloves on. Even though it took an hour, you're not having to string lights. National Tree was one of the few companies that offered colored bulbs. There are ten settings, some of them are, white, soft white, blinking white, colored, twinkling colored, colored to white and back to colored. We found the twinkling colored lights to be perfect, just a few twinkle at a time. The tree is very well made. The more carefully you manipulate the branches, the nicer it looks. It also had a lot of lights that connect at each section with a twist lock connector. There is an additional connector at the top, I'm guessing for a separate light for a tree topper. I will have to check their website for any accessories. I still love a real tree, but this is a nice replacement. ... show more

  • A Lovely Holiday Decoration
Size: 7ft 6in
We purchased this tree from Amazon after an especially bad experience with Balsam Hill. Knowing that we could trust Amazon to stand behind their product, we were confident that we'd be able to return it if it was defective or we simply didn't enjoy it. When we unboxed it, I initially thought it was going to be very sparse and unattractive. The branches seemed to be too far apart, and I worried this would make the tree look "empty". However, once the tree was assembled, and we'd spent about an hour "fluffing" the individual branches, the tree look much fuller, though there were still some gaps. I think it could use about 20% more hinged branches to really make it full. The lighting was very simple to connect. There was one "hub" where all of the connecting sockets merged, and the cascading plugs from the higher sections of the tree plugged into these. There is no "right" or "wrong" socket, and this made wiring very easy. I especially liked the screw-on plugs, which helped to prevent any accidental unplugging (especially when you have cats that want to smack all the ornaments). The dual LED system was very cool. The footswitch was easy to operate, even hidden under the tree skirt. One step to turn on the white LEDs, a second step to turn them all different colors (there is only one strand of lights, and the individual LEDs turn color), and a third step to turn the lights off again. The lights were very bright, and could light the entire room with a soft, romantic, holiday glow. The "Feel-Real" branches were enough to fool our inlaws, but they are not as plentiful as I would have liked for this price. I thought they could have used more of this type, and fewer of the "standard" artificial tree branches. The Feel Real ends of the branches did make hanging ornaments slightly more difficult because it was not easy to get the ornament hooks to settle on the branch. They mostly tried to hover on top of the plastic Feel Real needles, and some care was required to weave the ornament hook to nestle on the branch. The base was very wide and easy to deploy, and even with several cats pouncing from time to time, the tree remained very stable. This tree is a bit expensive, but very good quality, and I'm glad we made this purchase. ... show more

  • Perfect choice! Highly recommend! Perfect choice! Highly recommend!
Size: 7ft 6in
I originally wanted to purchase a Balsam Hill 7.5 foot artificial Christmas tree but they were out of stock. We watched the videos on both trees and decided to try the National Tree Company 7.5 ft pre-lit tree. I love that you can choose the lighting. We received our tree on Friday and put it up just to make sure it everything was perfect with it. It is exactly what we wanted. It was easy to assemble, took about 90 minutes for my husband and I to fluff it and we are very happy with it. My other artificial Christmas tree is gorgeous and has lasted 25 years but unfortunately it’s starting to show its age. If this Christmas tree lasts that long, it will probably out live us since we are in our 70’s! ... show more

Fluffed out nicely, exceeded y expectations. Lights are another story. As you can see lights out right middle. Have found many, many , many connections and made them. Amazon instructions say consult the “manual”, no manual came with the tree. Cannot even register warranty as nothing came with tree OR on Amazon listing has the item number! Every single number on box tree came in are covered by super sticky stickers so cannot read any numbers at all!! No extra bulbs or fuses came with the tree. These things could have been provided for what the tree cost. Called or Chatted with Amazon for Help finding item number, said I would hear back (did not say how??? Where??? within 6 hours and provided item number. Did not hear back from Amazon! Without the time wasting problems above that could have been prevented by National tree company providing a manual and accessories and necessary numbers. • Almost perfect Xmas tree
Size: 7ft 6in
I bought this tree due to the high grade from The WireCutter at NYT. I did not spend too much time to "fluff" the branches. All I needed was to start from the back of the branches. I placed the first small branch up, the next one to the right and the next one to the left. I continued the same pattern with all the main branches. It took about 30mn to finish the entire 7.5 ft tall tree. It included the time I stepped back to check for "holes". However it took an entire 1 hour to find the proper connection to the lights. There a total of 5 connections. It means there 5 males and females. The connections need to be exact otherwise the lights are not on. They were not marked so you have to "try and error". I wish the company would mark the connection as to put numbers on them or to use "color coded" so we know which one to plug to the corresponding one. However, I succeeded to plug the connection properly and VOILA a beautiful in front of me. The different light modes are definitely "cherry on the top". I definitely recommend the tree with the tips not in stiff plastic. I will mark the light connections when I disassemble the tree so there will be no lost time. Or, I will plug the sections of lights before placing the sections of tree into the trunk. Those are suggestions for anyone who is interested in buying the tree. Otherwise, it is a beautiful and well made faux Xmas tree. ... show more
