I got this for my daughter to play around with (on the practice skins) as she loves tattoos and has been interested in trying it out herself. This kit comes with *almost* everything you need to just go right out the box. However the addition of some inks (even just black ink) and even some green soap would have been lovely to make it a bit more completed. I managed to get extra practice skins for her, as that's mostly what she will be using to play around on - the kit comes with a single set of practice skin, but it would benefit from more. I love that everything can fit into the case for storage and travel. They provide multiple sets of needles, power cord sleeves, grip tape, ink caps, gloves, as well as single transfer paper, and of course the tattoo gun and battery. The gun feels decent in the hand - though as someone new, I don't have anything to compare to or any specific preferences. The gun itself can only be adjusted in whole voltages, which is a bit more limited than some other guns, however since my daughter is not planning on tattooing outside the practice skin, I think it should be fine. Overall it was a fun gift, and includes just about everything you need to start playing around - just pick up some inks along with it and maybe some extra transfer paper and practice skin. ... show more

This tattoo gun is very easy to use and the base keeps a charge for a few hours until you need to charge it again but that’s after constant use that it eventually dies. I’d definitely get this tattoo gun again if I were to buy another one.

For a relatively inexpensive starter tattoo set, this one is awesome. Why? Because the tattoo pen itself is a real sleeper, and it's actually far better than the kit as a whole. The pen is by Narkysus, and it's very nicely designed, though not quite as thick as my preference would dictate,. The pen is super smooth! And... it's incredibly quiet, as well. In fact, this pen runs smoother and quieter than comparable pens I've recently tried selling for three times as much. This is an excellent pen for beginners, and it will be a pleasure to work with. The rest of the kit is fine, but I need to point out the the battery is, well, not very good. It's got good capacity, but has two major faults: First, it has a narrow range, and secondly it can only be adjusted in full one volt increments. Not good, in my view. Additionally, the battery pack would have been far better with a digital LED readout. It's very difficult for me to read the current working voltage level the way it's set up. A good battery is adjustable in 1/10 volt increments, not 1 volt. Also included in the kit are: A roll of black, wide grip tape, a set of ink caps, a set of black latex exam gloves, tattoo pen covers (a nice addition to the kit), 40 tattoo needle cartridges (20 liners, 20 shaders), a single sheet of good tattoo practice skin, and a single sheet of tattoo design transfer paper. The kit comes in a very nice locking hard case... but no key. I really like this kit. If you get a set of small, inexpensive ink bottles you're set to go. ... show more

This is a great kit for beginners! It includes everything you need except for the ink. It even comes in a beautiful metal case with handle. I don't really know enough to give a detailed and educated review yet; but I'm looking forward to becoming an expert!
