I guess all that counts is the end result. Once installed correctly and working this fireplace is beautiful. However, because of some misguided installation steps, we experienced some problems with our initial install. The installation mistakes that we made were too complicated to discuss, but we believe if we had better understood the instructions, things would have gone smoother. Just make sure you fully understand the instructions before installing.

After doing a ton of research on this type of fireplace, we chose to purchase this one. The box came in pristine shape, no damage. Once we unboxed it there was dents on the actual product. We contacted the seller and they offered a small credit back, however it would not allow us to return the item should we have any other issue. At this point we had not put it completely together or plugged it in. So, before accepting the credit, we put it together after taking some time to work the dents out, not perfect but enough that anyone else wouldn't notice. Once put together and plugged in....WOW! The colors and flames are are so pretty. Some of the colors reminded me of a "fish tank", but others were so real looking and beautiful. HOWEVER... HEATER DOES NOT WORK. It went straight to overheat mode?? We contacted the company, again. They had us call a dealer that worked on this model, but since we didn't purchase from them, they would charge us for the labor, not the parts. Labor was $179 an hour...lol. uh...NO!! Because this was not going to be easy the seller offered a full refund if we destroyed the unit. Returning through the mail as you could imagine would cost too much for them. So they had us cut the cord and write void on the serial plate. Once we sent proof of doing so, we were refunded. This was not a cheap purchase. We spent $1800. We measured our hole in the cultured stone wall my husband just built for this unit to go into. This was the last piece to this beautiful project. We were so disappointed to have gone through ALL the Shipping issues we had with FedEx getting this thing delivered. It was delayed. Then it was too heavy for one person to remove it from the truck...just a mess. Then to have all this time pass, a whole in our wall longer than anticipated, just to get this unit and not have it fully function was a HUGE disappointment. My recommendation, although this company made it easy enough and worked with us to get us our refund...I recommend buying this through a local dealer. Don't go through the internet and don't mess with shipping and the potential hassle of this not working and returns etc. Save yourself from what we just went through. We do now have a working unit. Our wall looks beautiful. Our new unit looks beautiful. This experience was anything but beautiful. The company... nice and as helpful as they could be. But in the end we had a broken unit and had to get a new one. Learn from us.

We did a lot of research before purchasing this unit for our master bedroom remodel. Cheap fireplaces look cheap, this one is nice. It was easy to install, it looks awesome, and has a lot of adjustments available for the flame size, speed, and color. It runs very quietly, even with the heater fan on. We particularly chose this one because the black trim around the edges of the viewing area is much less prominent than on most other units. We didn't want 6" of matte black metal all around, we wanted a fireplace display. This one has just enough trim to cover the rough opening - a nice sleek and modern appearance. So far, the remote has been the only disappointment, and the only reason we cant give an unqualified 5 star review. This is not an inexpensive appliance. It comes with a very inexpensive remote. It is small and flimsy looking. The buttons are hard to press. The remote arrived with the battery installed upside down, so it didn't work at all. We fixed that, then it worked sometimes, if you were very close to the fireplace. We replaced the battery. Now, sometimes it works OK. About half the time, you have to jiggle the battery compartment to convince it to wake up. It's the only downside to what is otherwise a great unit.

We love our Alluravision! I researched for what feels like forever for the right 60 inch electric fireplace. It was actually hard to find in stock anywhere so I was relieved that Amazon had it. And it shipped and arrived right on time, and was well packaged. I didn’t use the big clear crystals because I think they look goofy, but I used most of the small crystals (both clear and the brownish ones) and all the logs. I’m glad went with the deep Alluravision because it just looks nice, I think if it was more shallow it would look super fake. I also love the shape and movement pattern of the fire. It looks great on speed #3 with the red flames on 4 and the blue ones on 2-3. Purple is my favorite color for the base of the fireplace. We never really use the overhead light because it makes it look like a disco ball lol.

The flame is lovely but it is very loud when it is running at a high speed and you have to sit right next to it to feel any of the heat. I have a much smaller and cheaper electric fire place that will warm an entire room. I was pretty disappointed in this one considering the price tag.

My wife wanted a electric slim fireplace for our new home. I decided to purchased the Napoleon Alluravision based on the receives. After the installation, she turned on the system and it worked perfect. The different settings are easy to navigate and the look is amazing. The only item that needs improvement is the small remote control. I would like to see a larger, slim remote like. Not a deal breaker at all, as everything else works percect. We removed our Original Fireplace and installed the Napoleon 50in Slim and the living room comes to life....
