Pros: I love the product. Love the way it looks and how it is expandable the community based content. It is all great. Cons: $20 a tile is steep. For that you would expect good quality control and customer service. I received one tile out of 20 where the green LEDs did not work. It took 5 emails back and forth and taking the tiles off the wall to get the serial number to get a replacement.     • Hot garbage
This product is absolute hot garbage. To give some context, I consider myself a major fan of RGB products. My entire house is decked out with Hue color bulbs and light strips inside and out. I have the Hue sync box to sync with my television. I wouldn’t consider myself a Hue fanboy necessarily, as I appreciate other brands and the value they bring also. I just find Hue to be simple to use and general compatibility across the board with other devices and applications. I’ve had my eye on Nanoleaf products for a very long time. Their other products haven’t appealed to me to the point of wanting to purchase, however, because of the triangular and other odd shapes. When I saw they came out with a square panel, I was excited and saw the right product fit for me. Let’s get this out of the way, these out outrageously overpriced. It’s simple a cheap plastic light. I understand they have to recoup R&D costs and the cost of developing the product and the software, but Nanoleaf’s pricing is out of control especially considering you need a lot of panels just to make something that looks really cool and not just awkward on your wall. I spent a lot of money to get 50 panels with the intent of making a cool light feature wall in my home gym. I was really disappointed right out of the box. The quality of this product in the hands is very cheap. Feels like it cost about a dollar to manufacture. Upon plugging several panels in to test them, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The panel is SO dim, not at all what I expected for a light fixture. I set them up in the app to see if I was just seeing a default dimmed setting or something but to my shock, the brightest setting was hardly visible in my well lit room. It’s not wonder that all the marketing for this product is in a dark room. Beyond that, the panels look AWFUL when the light is turned off, and in my case, even when it is turned on because you can hardly see the light. I hang on to it for a day or two to play with the application, and I can also report that the connection issues others have reported is true. My application was unable to find my canvas panels multiple times over the course of just a couple days. I was so unimpressed that I didn’t bother unpacking the rest and immediately returned it to Amazon. I would not buy these again and would definitely not buy another Nanoleaf product. ... show more

    • *Updated* Poor support - control square died after less than a year
These lights seem cool, they are bright and colorful. But at this price, they should last for more than a single year. I had a set die completely; NanoLeaf replaced the control square with another one that was defective (does not respond to button presses on the square, and randomly changes scenes/turns on without any interaction. Support has been useless (asking me to do resets which don't work because the buttons don't work, asking me to try the set without the control square to see if I still have the problem, when the set is non-functional without the control square and the problems are all with the control square, etc.) DO NOT BUY!!! ... show more

ABSOLUTE GARBAGE PRODUCT. Synchronized with WiFi once then the item was unreachable. Several tries of adding it to the app and network, finally gave up. I was excited for this product but it’s not ready for market.

    • HomeKit automation isn’t working with Canvas
The product works decently, but I purchased this in large for its compatibility with Apple HomeKit - which is not working properly. More specifically, using Nanoleaf Canvas with HomeKit automation is not working. There may be some configuration needed (though I doubt it) or a firmware update, but Nanoleaf support team is horrible, so I don’t know. And that is probably the main reason for my rating - it’s support system. They don’t have anyone you can talk to live. They enforce emails to convey technical issues. I spend two weeks and four emails just to spin in circles, trying in vain to communicate the problem. Apparently, they just get bored and stop replying to my emails. This product is too expensive for shoddy support and for an advertised capability not to work ... show more

    • I Wanted To Give Five Stars. I TRULY DID.
But I can't, because setting these things up took WEEKS. Not minutes, hours or days. They had to send me a second control unit, which also failed to pair with my phone just like the first one. So, I had a full kit, TWO control square units, and no lights. Eventually, I got both of the control squares to pair, but only to the PHONE itself, not to the network. After many attempts, and many phone calls to Nanoleaf, I finally got one of the control squares paired, and was able to set up my initially purchased kit. But, as a current and former Aurora panel user, this was INSANELY difficult by comparison, to set up. ... show more
