For the price, you'll be hard pressed to find a nicer set of knives. The fit and finish is excellent, the rivets in the handles have no burring on the edges and the blades are sharp.

Edit: Cont. from initial review below. Seller got back to me and offered to send a new knife block. It looks like it may be a common defect because it appears they just drilled out more area for me to fit the knife in all the way and this area was not stained but hey, it works and they were quick about getting back to me and rectifying the situation with little work from myself. Not sure if it was for custom’s purpose but they also included a free knife! Knives are sharp and look nice! Original post: After way too much back and forth searching for a the perfect knife set at the right price to gift to myself, I was really looking forward to this set! Opening up the package, the box looked mostly intact, the knives were looking great, the scissors had a couple dings but they were just the scissors after all...then I tried to put all the knives away in their given slots in the block but when I got to the pairing knife...as you can see in the photos, it doesn’t fit. Super bummed! Tried to send an email through Amazon to the seller and it couldn’t go through. Not sure what can be done other than to return these. Also now questioning the quality of the knives themselves after seeing the lack of quality control in just the housing device... ... show more

I needed a new knife set and wanted a block for them. This item fit the bill. It looks good. They do cut well. Like any knife, they need regular sharpening. The knives look good. Like any product, you get what one pays for. It has met my expectations. The blades are of a fairly good quality.

The knives are very sharp. Knife block is cracked like everyone else's. The angle of the knife block could be more so you don't have to tip it down for the knives to clear the cupboard when removing.

These are NOT Damascus steel - the design is laser etched. That said, they do come out of the box razer sharp, and they look and feel great. I had concern about quality though since multiple blades came chipped and some had rust spots already. Customer service was great and offered to replace those blades. Instead I returned them, but after trying out a bunch of different sets (and ultimately going with a more expensive one), I do feel that these bring a sharpness and feel that is hard to find otherwise at this price point. ... show more
