I bought these knives and they're very sharp and very distinctive. The Damascus is definitely unique and real. The quality is there and they're really nice in and out of the block. The block is also very nice and the set is beautiful. Sadly, I had to return them because the steak knives, the handles were just a smidge too short and it felt awkward and uncontrolled. ...nothing like holding a extremely sharp knife, cutting steak and it slips and accidentally cut yourself. Not a fan of the medical industry these days, so anything i can do to avoid thqt place/industry, i will. Anyway...So, these were returned, as hard as it was (like a bad breakup), and I'll be ordering another set from Nanfang, Damascus of course, except no steak knives in the set this time. Great knives - all of them. The larger handled knives were exceptional in both feel and performance, to include control. Now.. I just need to decide which set from Nanfang I'll replace this return with? Maybe the same one or perhaps the grey as that's quite sharp looking but im leaning towards the black block set, so we'll see..

I bought this as a gift for my dad’s birthday and he seems to really like it. I love how slim it is because it doesn’t take up too much counter space. I also really like the variety of knives in it. I find this is the perfect basic set for an at-home cook. I did notice that the blades get dull quickly, but it comes with the sharpener so it’s not that big of a deal.

This knife set is fantastic! They are very sharp. They are real Japanese Damascus Steel Made. They cut very easily with little effort. The included sharping rod works well, I've used it on another older cheaper knife I have that was very dull. I spent maybe 20 mins sharpning. It wasn't completely sharp yet. But made improvement. I spent another 20 mins later on and it's like a new knife now. The other knives have been used a few times already and they hold a edge really well. Of course your need to clean these knives after use and dry fairly quickly to avoid rust. And put light oil on them. I would say one a week. I use flack seed oil just because that's what I use on my griddle gril. You can use veggie oil. or what you prefer. Taken care of properly this set will last as long time.

I waited until after messaging the company to write this review but unfortunately they are not helping me. So here's my review: These knives appeared to be nice when we received them. We loved the serrated knives especially. The problem is after 3 months, pretty much all of them started to rust. We had another brand for 20 years and they never rusted. I messaged the company and was told the following from Zora: "Stainless steel is a metal that is not easy to rust, but not being easy to rust does not mean it will never rust. If it is not cleaned after use and the juice of residual food contains acidic and alkaline substances, stainless steel kitchenware will also be contaminated and rust. For all stainless steel kitchenware, if it is not cleaned and dried after use, it will also rust. Therefore, be sure to dry it. As mentioned in our instruction manual, there are also notes. To remove rust, you can soak and wipe it with white vinegar. The soaking time can depend on the degree of rust, generally ranging from 15 minutes to several hours. The acetic acid in white vinegar can react with rust and dissolve it. After soaking, use a clean scouring pad or steel wool to gently wipe the surface of the knife to remove the rust. When wiping, pay attention to the strength to avoid scratching the knife." While I appreciate the cleaning instructions, I don't believe that after a such a short period of time that these should rust. It's not my first set of stainless steel knives ,and I know how to take care of them and clean then. The product is defective. I responded back to her after this message and she never got back to me. It's been 1 month. I pretty much wasted my money. Don't waste yours. Buyer beware.
