    • Faulty design or unit
The compressor draws ~19.5A @110V while pressurizing the tank from 0psi to 115psi. (Dedicated 20A) circuit required. Takes under a minute. When using tools with the compressor, the pressure switch will turn the motors back on at ~75psi. However the motors stall due to pressure in the tank. The compressor will draw up to 22A unsuccessfully trying to restart the compressor on and off eventually popping the 20A breaker. The pressure in the tank will then have to be reduced to under 15psi before the motors can successfully start to refill the tank. Perhaps I have faulty unit, however after measuring the power data I would be concerned about motor derating on a "working" unit. * I used a power meter to gather the data. ... show more

    • A Solid Compressor at a Good Price!
The box arrived a bit beat up, but the contents were not damaged. The assembly was very basic and took less than 5 minutes (two wheels, the front foot and the screw in intake filters/mufflers). The matte black finish and solid build quality helps it blend in nicely in the shop that is used for laser equipment and other crafts. The noise level from the unit is more than acceptable, MUCH quieter than the Brand X (BX) oilless that it replaced and the cycle time to get back up to working pressure is also FAR less than the rate of the BX compressor that it replaced. I'm impressed! Note: The BX compressor was replaced for two main factors, noise and slow cycle time to full pressure. Just to compare the MZB compressor and the Brand X (BX) compressor it replaced: - SCFM: BX 4.3 (121.7L/min) / MZB 14.1 (400L/min) - NOTE: BX lists "flow rate" @ 90PSI, MZB lists "exhaust rate" - Max PSI: BX 175PSI / MZB 115PSI (to me volume is more important than pressure, to be fair there is no way either unit could run an automotive impact gun continuously) - HP: BX 1.5HP (single compressor motor) / MZB 3HP (dual compressor motors) - Advertised noise Level: BX 69dBA / MZB 72db (my ears say the MZB unit is WAY quieter in the confined space) - Cost: BX $289.99 / MZB $259.99 Overall, I am very pleased with this compressor, it checked all the boxes for the particular purpose that I purchased it for. ... show more

    • 20 amp circuit maybe
I think this is probably a great compressor, but I could never get it to operate without tripping the breaker. I placed it on a 20 amp circuit dedicated to it solely and it still continuously tripped the breaker after only less than a minute of operation.

Make sure you dedicate a 20amp circuit breaker for this compressor. I ended up installing a switch. So I can turn on off one of the compressor pumps when I need it. Still controlled by pressure switch for safety

    • Huge air power, quiet operation, bargain price
Pulls the electrical power. 20 amp circuit is required. 15 amp trip in seconds, not minutes. But it puts out the air. Need 11 scfm @ 90 psi for die grinders and cutoff tools? This little jewel is doing that for me, easy! You’ll need to add a regulator for low pressure tools but that’s tinker toy easy. ... show more

    • Keeps tripping breaker
I simply don’t know how anyone has this working, unless I got a faulty unit. I had my electrician wire me a 20 amp outlet with nothing else on it using 8awg wire and a 20 amp breaker. It still only ran for about -0-15 seconds and tripped. Not sure what more I could do.
