This is the second tarp or cover that I've purchased from this supplier, having used the previous one to cover my pontoon boat for about 6 months out of every year for about 6 years now. It breathes allowing items beneath it to dry out after nature's effects force moisture into contents beneath...not because it "leaks", but simply because water & moisture are nearly impossible to exclude from any type of covered goods.. It's virtually waterproof, and very tough. Years of sun exposure will weaken the fabric's threads and eventually seams will give way and separate or a rip may occur by a force that may penetrate the weakened fabric, but it really does take years for that deterioration to occur. I have sought material to use for protecting my boat for years, and this material is very durable and I recommend it. It's not quite as good as sunbrella or the other expensive fabrics that cost many times the amount of this polyester fabric but it is very tough and durable. ... show more

My water front-patio has been exposed to the sun and rain for 10 years. Though looking fabulous, I cannot really stay outside because it is too hot during the day and too cold at night. I installed the tarp top before. It was ugly and flimsy, falling apart in the wind after 2 years. This Canvas fabric is the same one as the sunshade umbrella, very strong. Furthermore, I really love the accessories that came with the shipment - zip ties. It made the installation a breath. I would highly recommend buying this product to make the install super simple: TERMATH 12 Pcs Stainless Steel Ceiling Hook Ring Hooks 1.8 inch Pad Eye Plate, Marine Hardware Staple Hook Loop with Screws Here is how I installed it in about 1 hour: 1. I tied ropes on the 4 corners of the canvas. 2. Move the Canvas on the top of the frame. You will need a stick to poke to canvas to move the Canvas from below. 3. Pull and tie down the Canvas from 4 corners so that you can have a stable Canvas to work with. Otherwise, it will move around, especially on a windy day. 4. Now you can easily visualize where the hooks need to go. 5. The locations of the hooks must be slightly wider than the Canvas size so that you can stretch it out flat. 6. Install the first 2 rows of the hooks (parallel) and then, tie the canvas to the hooks using zip ties. 7. Then, install hooks of the other 2 sides and tied the Canvas down. FYI, I installed the hooks slightly higher on the wall side so that water can flow outwards. If you have the right tools -drills and a high ladder, the job can be done in 1-2 hours. Flat, well-stretched, strong, good looking cover. Right after installing the canvas, I could immediately the difference. The patio is much warmer in the early morning and night because the heat is trapped in the patio, not free-flowing to the sky. Also, it is much cooler during the day because it completely shields the patio with the thick fabric. I love this product, especially in combining with the marine quality hooks. ... show more

I bought this after reading all the reviews. I am impressed with the quality as soon as I pulled it out of the box. Heavy stitching and canvas. I've been trying to find something to help keep this hot southeast Texas sun off of the chickens. I just put it up today but will update after a while. I use it on my outdoor barrel sauna. Fits perfect and is heavy duty. Unfortunately it’s not waterproof so I did buy a cheap $10 plastic tarp to put underneath this one but I like the color and look of this one- natural and works with the aesthetic of the cedar sauna

    • Great quality for the price. Sun blocking canvas. Large.
I used this tarp to set up a shaded canopy for beach camping. I just used some 1x1s 8' long, buried 1 foot down and put some screws in the ends of the 1x1. Then zip tied the grommets to the screw/tarp. Staked out from through the grommet and around screw with some sissal rope 50lb test and it worked well. I did have one grommet bend slightly but it was under a lot of force and wind whip. Overall it held up really well and blocked the sun much better than any poly tarp would have. This was the cheapest large canvas tarp I could find on amazon. The next step up in thickness or another brand was around double the price. I bought some 1x1 pre cut stakes but found that reusable grocery bags as buried sand anchors worked as well if not better. ... show more

Bought this canvas tarp a few weeks ago to cover a 15' x 14' door opening in a garage i built until i get time to install doors. Seems to be well made and has good stitching. Color has faded a little in the sun but overall a good buy and has been holding up well to the snow, wind and rain here in Pennsylvania. Definitely would recommend. ... show more
