I use this on one of the inner steps in our motor home to catch debris from feet and paws. We’ve camped a lot in the southwest where lots of pickers grow. This rug is a picker magnet. I just folded it in half and put it on the first step on the inside of our motor home and it has done a great job of catching dirt, debris, pickers, moisture. It has held up well and washes great. The size is great for what I use it for. It stays put and even though I got the cream color, it continues to look new and hides dirt well. It functions as it says it would and there’s a variety of colors to choose from.

Was looking for something to catch grass and wet feet from not only the dog and grandpa but also the grandkids and playmates who come over to play in the grandkids pool! Though the pool is set up on a patio, there is always grass from the yard, and water tracks from the little ones running in and out and forgetting to wipe their feet on the outdoor rug, or not doing it thoroughly. My floors show every water spot left by wet feet, paw prints, etc. It’s maddening when you’ve just mopped! I tried just putting a beach towel down when it was pool time but it inevitably would get moved about, wadded up, etc., as pool time commenced. I really did not want a second rug inside the house, in addition to the rug outside this entryway because of the location. This patio door happens to open directly into my formal dining room which is already a tight space, without adding throw rugs. When I decided to try this rug, my intention was to only put it out when needed, however, the rug has been so effective at trapping grass, water, etc., and the color actually blends nicely with my floors, so I never take it up except to shake it out. I choose a size that is as wide as my doorway. It is not as large as a beach towel, yet very little, if anything, gets past this rug - even when a parade of giggling little ones, never slow down to wipe their feet! It definitely is my new “best tool” to keep my just mopped floors looking “just mopped” for a few extra days! In addition, my little 4 lb., dog, who is 14 yrs old and suffers from arthritis, occasionally lays down on it when I am working nearby in the kitchen. Dog approved, too! I’ve even caught my grandson playing with his little trucks on it. Definitely soft. I do have a robot vacuum which I run most days, it doesn’t have a problem navigating around it, however, that is usually when I take the opportunity to shake it out, and I put it back down as soon as the vaccum is finished. I’ve had it about 30 days, and pool time is about over, however, I’m confident, when summer rain turns to winter slush, ice and snow, it will be great for that too!

In total, I have bought 12 of these (in a variety of sizes) Have some in the motor home, kennels, living room, etc. The dogs absolutely love them. The first one I bought was in April of 2019, so 3 years ago. The rug shows no wear at all, despite weekly washing and drying. I have 7 large dogs, so these get a lot of use. Best thing about them is how easily they wash. They aren't too bulky for the washing machine- most of my doggy place rugs are the x-large 5x3 size, and they wash great! And they don't take too long in the dryer to dry. I don't find condensation from the dog's body moisture on the floor (a problem I had with a previous dog bed) I also love that there is no rubber underliner, because rubber on rugs tends to get ruined in frequent washings. Just a thick chenille rug, that stays looking nice- I'm always amazed at how much dirt falls out when I shake them. They hide it well!

I purchased the 3’x5’ rug. We have it in front of the doggie door for our 2 dogs. We have standard poodles, so not small dogs. Also not “frilly,” as some would believe. Mud is their favorite. Yay. We’ve also recently had several rounds of severe weather and rain. I’ve had this rug down for maybe just over a week now. I can definitely tell it has decreased the amount of grass and paw prints on our floor. There was some grass and dirt beneath the rug when I cleaned, but at least it was confined to one spot. That could be related to my child. I then shook the rug outside and was amazed at how much debris it had caught! There have been no visible muddy prints on the rug or floor (I ordered the dark gray). This rug is actually pretty heavy. It does not slide around on the floor, but there are occasional wrinkles. Not surprising since our dogs are 60lb each. They jump through the door at the speed of an Indy 500 car. It’s ridiculous. Overall, I highly recommend at this point. I’m hoping my opinion won’t change after washing. If it does, I will update my review. Update regarding cleaning: The first time I cleaned this rug, I attempted to do so with an outdoor hose. I assumed it would be too heavy for the washer once wet. After 2 solid days of hanging outside, the rug was still retaining water. Granted, those days were partly cloudy and mid to high 60’s, but still. The second time I decided it was no heavier than a full load of wet towels, so to the washer it went. I ran a “normal” cycle, and set to prewash. I used regular detergent and put vinegar in the prewash part of the dispenser (thanks, dog vomit). The washer ran perfectly fine. It didn’t register as an unbalanced load at all. On to drying. I tried permanent press on cool. That did nothing, so I set to normal with medium heat. Within30 minutes the rug is dry, without much lint in the screen, and backing is still 100%. Still loving it. Still tapping a ton of dirt dragged in by my pooches.

Not sure why this isn't mentioned more- they make wonderful sofa cushion covers! I always admired these on my neighbor's sofa and marvel at how her house always looks tidy and charming. This is a neighbor, mind you, who runs a doggy day care with up to 13 dogs at a time in her house, and yes, she lets them cuddle with her on the sofa. She had a navy sofa and the navy rugs on her cushions match perfectly. Mine (teal) isn't a perfect match with sofa, but still nice and I'll probably find a couple pillows to tie the slight difference together. As soon as I put on the sofa, both my dogs jumped up and fell asleep, their seal of approval. They are so soft and cozy, super inviting, and I love I can easily throw in washer. Haven't washed yet, but hoping a strong spin in the washer will get most water out. The rubber on the backing prevents them from moving around, they really stay put. The 36" width works out perfect to tuck under back cushion with a nice front overhang. Sofa looks respectable again with no more old tacky blankets, yay!

We have 2 large, active, 18 month labs who love being outside. They each weigh 75 pounds each. Our backyard has turned into a massive mud pit because of the kind of winter we are having. We had always been a 1 dog house. The amount of dirt/mud that 2 of them brought in was driving me out of my mind. Each morning a layer of dirt would have settled on all of the horizontal surfaces during the night. I tried new larger water hog rugs, sweeping under the rubber mat outside the door, washing the outdoor mat, cleaning all the mud that the dogs were getting on the outside of the door, being absolutely diligent about wiping off their paws each and every time they came back into the house. I was beyond frustrated. I spent an entire day deep cleaning this area and was having to vacuum every single night to try and keep this clean. I had resorted to using baby wipes to try and clean their paws each time they came in. It was slightly better, but it really didn't solve the problem. So as a last resort, I researched the "best rugs for dogs with muddy paws" and My Doggy Place rug got very good reviews. I got the oatmeal colored "runner" size rug, which I would definitely recommend, especially if you have bigger dogs or multiple dogs. Because the rug is thicker and has nubbies, it does a much better job of blotting the mud and wet off of their feet. It rained for 24 hours straight the first day I got the rug. Getting them to sit on the rug for about a minute or walk back and forth over the rug a few times was enough to clean their paws. I still have to wipe up the mud that gets on the floor, but this is working so much better. The weather cleared today and the dirt did dry in the rug. I simply took it outside and shook it out. I haven't washed it in the washer yet, so I can't comment on that. My biggest challenge has been getting our one dog from using the rug to play tug of war. It is much stronger than a towel, which doesn't handle this well. We are making some progress on getting her to leave it alone. Both dogs have taking to hanging out on the rug because it is so comfy, which helps to deposit more water and dirt on the rug. I am delighted that this is working so well. I still have to clean, but there is so much less dirt floating around our family room. I would definitely recommend purchasing this. I would definitely buy this product again.

I have the XL runner at my back door. The material is lovely - very soft. Easy to wash/dry. This rug does catch a lot of the debris brought it by kids/dogs. Cons: 1) I ordered the color "charcoal" and realized after washing that the rug is actually navy. Navy does not match my space and looks silly. Didn't attempt to return since I had laundered it. 2) The description claims the rugs underneath helps to keep the rug in place. I'm not sure if my hardwood floors are different than everyone else's but... 10/10 does not stay. I'm tripping over and fixing the rug constantly.
