  • Quality Movement - Worth the Money on Style Points Alone
So far, I really like this watch. I was searching for a watch that was not so cheesily as a Timex, that had some style but was not pretentious, and that would dress up or down. Now, your own definition of what dresses up will obviously come into play here, but this is a stylish watch. I think it's a bit more stylish than the website photo. In reality, it looks less plastic. (Is, in fact, stainless steel.) Size does matter, and it's a large (wide) watch. I'm big, and it's still wide, which is, of course, in style currently. Case dimensions are not consistent among watch descriptions, so I'll tell you this one is right at 1-3/4 inches across the metal cast, side to side, not counting the stem. It looks a bit small in the photo, because the strap is about 15/16 inch wide. While I'm on the strap, it's smooth suede leather, the color shown. (They offer a variety of other bands, but this is the classiest.) I am big, and it's long enough, which really means it's not like so many on which the buckle half is so short that the buckle lies more or less on the side of your wrist. It's on the bottom of my wrist. Not squarely, but in an okay and comfortable place. Now, if your wrists are sausage fat, no common band is going to work for you, but the maker was generous enough for almost everyone. I expect that like all suede, it will be subject to oils and other stains. But then, it's not really a plumber's or mechanic's working watch. There's been some discussion of how easy it is to read. I find it doesn't present a problem. The hands and dial are not luminous, but the face is black and the main hands and marks matte metallic. The black face appears matte, so even in poor light, there is sufficient difference from the hands to make it readable. I looked this morning before dawn in the car with my hand below the window in very dim light and could easily find an angle at which the hands stood out enough from the face. I like the red second hand. Aside from style, it keeps it from being mistaken for the minute hand at a glance in dim light. The day of the month digits are simple and clear and are visible through the window from any reasonable angle. The second hand is not sweep. It "ticks" once per second. There are no minute marks, just the five minute marks, but the face is so large that it's clear which minute is current. It is a simple movement. No stop watch. Pull out the stem to set. The date can be rapidly advanced by passing 12:00, rolling back to before 10:00 and up to 12:00 again, which advances one day. No need to go around and around. The watch arrives with a tiny red plastic shim holding the stem out, so the battery isn't consumed in the warehouse. The back is marked for 3 atmospheres, which is the lowest water resistance rating, other than none at all. By industry standard, that means you can wash your hands and get it splashed, get caught in the rain, and other inconsequential water exposures, but should not shower, swim, dive, or wear it for other activities like fishing where it will be immersed. (3 atmospheres equates to 30 meters or 100 feet, but that is merely a part of the industry standard testing procedure and does not imply it can be safely submerged.) I doubt this leather would be too happy about getting soaked much. MVMT was crowdfunded on the mission of creating fashionable minimalist designs that could be worn in a variety of environments. They are essentially a fashion company, and the watch is an expression of that philosophy. But they did not just stuff a Chinese no-name movement into their fashion case. The movement is by Miyota and is one used in a multitude of watches. Miyota is a Citizen Watch Company brand, and their movements are used in about one quarter of all watches worldwide. Their batteries are mercury-free as per EU directive. They are supposed to be as long-lasting as mercury batteries, but I personally seem to see more complaints about all watch batteries since the switch from mercury. This is my spontaneous review, no freebees, etc. I feel, though, like I'm doing an ad for this watch. I want to hold up my wrist, look into the camera, and say, "This is my watch. Join the MoVeMenT." Hey. It's really a nice watch. It's worth the hundred bucks for style alone, and as I said, it's a decent movement and quality band. ... show more

  • Great quality
For the price, this watch is great quality. Wish they’d price other watches similar

  • Lighter than is appears, nice, but overpriced a bit
Going strong after two years of ownership, paid $80 back then in 2023, which was expensive for what it is: Lightweight, minimalist and NOT a renowned brand. Appears heavier than it is in the pics. Looks nice and good buy in $50-70 range in 2025.

  • Watch
Bought for grandson’s 21st birthday. He loved it. He was impressed with the watch and. He has quite a collection of watches but none have a super soft leather band like this new one. Very pleased with it.

  • Beautiful Watch.
I loved the look of this watch since I first came upon it a while back. But I have to say it looks even better in person than the pictures. The strap is a little darker than the pictures but it's certainly not a bad thing. The weight of the watch and the materials all around appear to be top notch. It is a quite watch as well, unlike some cheap watches I've had in the past. The look of it is so versatile that I can use it as an every day watch or dress it up for a night out. ... show more

  • HYPE Beast
Loved the product. Item is as described by the seller. As for sizing, I am 5'6" with a below average wrist in diameter and the watch fit snuggly in the fourth notch on the strap. It was well-packaged and neat. It comes with a case that is zipped for perfect storing. Overall, looks great and feels great and is perfect for clumsy people like me who wears this to look fresh for the bars/clubs and usually place my hand down on tables which otherwise would scratch the metallic strap therefore making the leather strap superb. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!!!!!
Unless you want a cheap-looking, cheaply made, ridiculously overpriced, plastic and cheap Chinese steel-made watch. When putting the watch down, it makes that high, hollow sound that everyone on earth associates with a low-quality product. The only thing premium about this watch is the packaging. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!!!! I bought the Cocotina Men's Fashion Leather Band Wrist Watch Quartz Watch (Brown), part number WT0085c, at the same time I bought this MVMT watch because I had a suspicion and it turns out it's the exact same watch. Literally the only difference is the packaging and the letters MVMT stamped onto the watchface of the $95.00 version. This is a $7.95 watch that MVMT is selling for $95. I received this piece of junk around 1:30 pm on October 28, 2016 and immediately started a return for a refund after unboxing and trying it on. Shame on you, MVMT. DO NOT BUY THIS WATCH!! ... show more

  • Really good quality surprisingly.
I absolutely love this watch. It is a sharp looking watch and I have owned it for almost 6 months now and it has not shown any signs of giving up. The watch feels a bit light as compared to more pricey watches, however for the price this is more of an accessory and not a commitment to my watch collection. I love the look for the summer time and it is almost always on my wrist. ... show more
