The MOTIV MV88+ Video Kit is a premium Digital Stereo Condenser Microphone. Your new mobile recording rig directly connects to any Apple device via a Lightning connector, or via USB-C to select additional devices. The MV88+ has all you need to capture great content right out of the box. The included phone mount is also compatible with your existing set-up, allowing to connect to any standard ¼” tripod. The MV88+ is compatible with: iOS Devices, Samsung Galaxy Note 8, Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Samsung Galaxy s7 (requires additional micro-B cable or OTG adapter), Samsung Galaxy s8/ s8+, Samsung Galaxy s9/ s9+. Note that not all android devices provide enough power or support USB audio. Note that the MV88+ is NOT compatible with iPad Pro.

I’ve used this for 3 months recording live music. This is a high quality microphone with many options and practical accessories. It is simple to use. Audio review: The microphone has many pattern settings from wide angle to focused. When set up properly, sound quality is significantly better iPhone 16 Pro. Bass is noticeably cleaner and more defined. I use this for symphony/brass/wind bands. Shure recording app works seamlessly with iOS and provides simple premade recording settings (voice, acoustic, band, etc.) while still allowing full customization of mic pattern, gain, compression, and limiter. However you must practice with the software and mic setup. It takes a few tries to understand everything. I only use iPhone and haven’t tried Android. Read the instructions here—don’t forget to turn on airplane mode and do not disturb focus. Gear setup review: This is a great tiny kit rolled into a durable soft case. Setup is quick and sturdy, and can be done easily in the dark/live music setting. Standard tripod hardware means you can use any tripod, though the Pixi is fine. Mic connects directly to phone with provided standard cords. I really love the roll-up case with its mesh pockets. Small gear like this can be easy to lose, but Shure went out of its way to help you here. If you want to greatly improve your phone audio recording quality, are willing to test it out a few times, and need portable gear, this is a great choice. ... show more

    • Recording band practice better than imagined
The media could not be loaded. I was going to look past this since I’ve had this for several months but not had a chance to record since I’ve been injured. I was planning on purchasing a digital 24 track mixer, drum, guitar, and vocal mics to specifically record band practice. Practice was tonight so I recorded all the way through, just to try it out. I listened on the way home and was blown away. I have a sub in my car and couldn’t believe how good quality the bass drum and bass guitar came through. The quality was FAR better than I expected. It picked up the bass drum and bass guitar so we’ll. When I got home, I listened to chop songs up to send them to the guys and couldn’t believe how clear and focused the sound was. No need to spend thousands of dollars when I’ve got this. Regarding our playing, we haven’t played Yes together in 17 years and our bassist was just playing around. This is us, The Hot Rod Davidians, playing in a small room: Moving blankets on the walls, other band’s amps strewn about, and the PA speakers were at the top of the room. Fairly easy to mount, plug in, and get recording in 15 minutes at most. Super crisp clear sound! App is very easy and intuitive, with a decent number of basic tweaking options. 2 different, mic types built-in!! Mix either, also has left/right stereo mixing options.. NOT BAD!! HOWEVER..... EDIT** Now selling on Ebay.. It simply STOPPED working ... TWICE. The same problem. Plugged in and NO green light. no connection, nothing. YES MULTIPLE TROUBLESHOOTING steps!! etc. Sent back for warranty repair now TWICE, and a brand new one sent back. Twice.... And YOU, pay shipping... hmmmm..... ... show more

    • Works well. Has a very simple recording app.
The mic functions well, but does not capture lower frequencies. I use it for recording Didgeridoo B1#, 63 Hertz playing (as measured on the T1 tuner app). So, I won't be able to use it for quality recordings. It has very short cables and I got a 6 foot lightning to mic. I very much like the simplicity of the Motiv app that it comes with. It has some simple EQ and decibel settings. I can trim recordings. A few other helpful things too. Ultra simple to just set the decibels I want after a few tests and then press the record button. ... show more

This mic sounds really nice and is super handy for a portable recording setup. Unfortunately today I went to unplug the cable and afterwards heard a little rattle inside the mic. Upon inspection, I found that the micro usb port has broken off of the circuit board... There doesn't appear to be any damage, it just looks like the glue and/or soldering gave up and it popped off. I didn't have to force the cable out or anything, it came out as usual but I guess it was enough to pop the port off. Anyways, great mic but I am super sad that mine broke and I'm not sure if there's any chance at repair since it is past the 2 year warranty. ... show more
