  • Library game changer
I haven’t yet tested this scanner in heavy everyday use in my job as a school librarian, but I used it quite a bit to catalog books after school was out for summer. It’s so easy to use because, unlike most handheld scanners, you can kind of sloppily pass your barcode vaguely in front of the scanner and it works 10/10 times! I hope this saves me a lot of headaches I normally have with scanners I’ve used in the past. ... show more

  • Heavy-duty scanner
This heavy-duty barcode scanner also scans QR codes. You have to be careful if you are scanning barcodes that are too close together. Other than that, it works very well and appears to be very well made. I do not like the audible tone that it makes and wish there was a mute function. For occasional use, this is not terribly annoying but when doing inventory, the beep will get on your last nerve! If you are only using it for occasional scanning, this is a tolerable function. ... show more

  • Scan accuracy OK, but no mute function? Unforgivable.
This is a desktop-style 2D barcode scanner (meaning it can scan QR codes as well as standard barcodes, along with a few less-common barcode styles). It comes on a base that allows you to directionally aim it up or down for convenience, and has an "auto-sense" mode where it turns on when it senses motion, and turns off when it doesn't so you don't constantly have a laser running. Barcode accuracy is ok on this. Not great but not bad. If you have a couple barcodes close together it is inconsistent on which one it will scan. My biggest issues is that this thing has a loud beeping noise similar to the old handheld game Simon where you have to repeat the patterns. You can change between three different Simon-sounding tones, but there is no option to mute this sucker. Not at all what I want from a barcode scanner as all the sounds are pretty jarring. Does it work? Sure. Is it obnoxious? Definitely. This will be an "emergency backup device" in case a critical scanner goes down, otherwise I'd feel bad deploying this somewhere that someone would use it regularly. ... show more

  • Good build quality, good scans, multiple modes
Barcode reader has surprisingly good build quality. It’s much heavier than I expected, the silver part of the scanner is metal. Many configuration options are available, it’s really nice that it supports both USB-HID and USB-com, as I type dvorak and all the scans come out garbled unless I either switch back to qwerty or use the scanner configured as a com port. Scanner scanned all the items I wanted it to scan, but admittedly, all the products have barcodes in very good condition. I ran it through some barcode test sheets, and it scanned everything I tried, 1d and 2d except for maxicode (I had not heard of maxicode before, it’s apparently a USPS thing). I really like this scanner, only thing I’m not fond of is the 6 pin RJ style connector on the back. As this is not a mobile scanner, the cable should last a long time, but may have to be purchased special if it breaks. ... show more

  • Substantial quality and easy to use
This is very substantial quality and easy to use at our cash counter for checking out. It was easy to install and works very well. Heavy duty and should last a long time.
