Have two terrible ankles from 20+ years of competitive soccer, and have used numerous supports (taping, lace-up, straps, lace-up/straps). Haven't had these long, but they're the best of all worlds so far. Supportive, comfortable, non-bulky and fit better in my cleats than everything other than tape. Couldn't be happier. Was concerned after reading older reviews of the Mueller XLP and Mueller ATF2 about them being too bulky for cleats, difficult to remove, too tight, time consuming to put on - this brace has none of those issues, especially if you've ever used any ankle brace in the past. The long laces make sense when you are expanding the brace to put on and remove.

I am starting physical therapy soon. I broke my ankle 3 months ago. So far this is the most amazing ankle thing I have purchased. I am walking better with this around the house than with my walking boot air cast. Sizing is true to size for me. I wear 7 1/2 - 8 I have an extra small.

First, as the title states, this item is NON-RETURNABLE and it runs BIG, I bought it in my usual size and I had to buy the next size down. I'd say go with a smaller size, but everyone is different so good luck. (TL/DR In summary it has pros and cons, compared with the old one. The main issue is that it doesn't feel as supportive as the old version.) I play soccer 4 times a week so my ankle braces get destroyed after around a year or so, during the last 10+ years I've been using the "Mueller Soccer Ankle Brace" and I loved it. Unfortunately, they are discontinued, and when I asked Mueller the said this one is the "upgraded" replacement so I will be comparing both. -The old one would get tight, like a corset around your ankle, this one feels loose, especially on the bottom strap. -The old one had more lace holes without eyelets so the laces would not slip, this one has fewer holes and the eyelets make the lace slip. In contrast, this makes the removal of the brace very easy while the old one took forever to take off. -On the old one the tongue was sewn all the way from bottom to top, which helped the brace get tight, on this one the tongue is sewn by two small straps to the brace. Again, it makes it very easy to take off but I have concerns about durability, I guess I will find out, in a few months. On a side note, the laces are loooooooong which is annoying.

Updated **This item isn't eligible for return** Now stuck with two braces that don't fit :\ Updated after purchase/fitting of downsized brace: Bought a small (downsized from medium) and does fit tighter. I anticipated it would also provide more support at the heel to ankle, but it does not, even after a thick sock and compression sleeve. Ideally I'd downsize yet again, but worry about the sacrificed comfort - gotto return both. Wish me luck; I'm moving on. Original review: My foot dimensions clearly suggests a medium, but this brace is significantly loose. I don't feel too much support and stabilization from the instep up the heel. I wouldn't wear this barefoot, though I don't believe wearing thick socks would make a difference. I'm going to order another brace a size lower. My foot is on the upper range of medium from the size chart - if I was on the lower end I would probably go down to an extra small FYI Foot length: 11" Ankle circumference: 9.5" Heel circumference: 13.5" Instep circumference: 9.5" Foot circumference: 10.5" Cleat: Adidas Copa Mundial
