Update on Oct 29, 2023: I contacted the manufacturer’s customer support and after 4 emails back and forth on the same day they initiated a replacement of the product. It arrived in 3 days and I’ve used if 3 or 4 times since. It works well, I like that it heats up very quickly, much quicker than the gas stovetop. One downside is it has limited temperature controls, but I’ve learnt how to manage them. Initial review: I used it probably 8 times, 15-20 minutes each time and then it died. Okay this thing is crazy fast. Boils water in less than 3 minutes. My kitchen is being renovated right now so I had to buy a hotplate. The first one I bought was less expensive but damn it was cheap compared to this one. I'm a bit spoiled now with this burner. The cooking temperature granularity isn’t great, but we have used this cooktop at home and on several RV trips over the last year (including a 2800 mile trip with 8 stops!). Its portability and ease of use is awesome, BUT we’re not sure what happened. The glass surface cracked and now we are worried about continuing to use it. I didn’t check the warranty because it has been a year - I guess it’s time to get a new one that has better temperature adjustments. ... show more

I like how it works, heats very fast but I had to get new pans compatible to magnet system. Just be careful where the pan or pot is sitting because I burned a side of mine, made of melting plastic or material not heat resistant. I would bye again now that I have the right pans

    • Powerful little Hot Plate
We bought this because we sold our gas stove and were waiting for delivery of our new induction stove. We expected it to be a low powered device that was something we could use to just get by. It turns out that it is a very powerful little cooktop with all the advantages of inductive cooking. The temperature control is a little strange in that it seems to be a duty cycling approach but it still works. We are keeping this to use for outdoor cooking and to lend to our daughter who has a catering business. Great value for the money. ... show more

    • Great little device, but watch your pans!
This works pretty well, heats your pan quickly, and does have a bit of a learning curve. It’s not like your typical gas stoves, so make sure your pans are ferromagnetic, or basically are metallic. I ended up buying a nice t-fal ceramic 12 inch nonstick pan, because it’s a nice quick release nonstick and the bottom is heavy so induction doesn’t immediately burn your food. ON THAT NOTE though, make sure your pan is within 12 inches. My pan slipped a bit off the middle, and SINCE THE EDGES ARE MADE OF PLASTIC, it melted a bit of that plastic. So you have to be EXTRA careful or use a 10 inch pan. I think the plastic is definitely a design flaw, hopefully they come up with a better design where the glass maybe goes to the edge. TL;DR: The sides are made of plastic, so it may melt if your pan is a bit larger or sitting too far on one of the edges. Otherwise, it works relatively well. ... show more

I’ve used this about 5 times since I bought it in March. I turned it on today and noticed a burning electrical odor as it was heating up and then it stopped working. Updated review—My update is based on the seller response. After seeing my review, they contacted me quickly and were kind enough to send me a replacement.
