    • Midrange microphone for those on a budget
This is a decent midrange priced microphone for those on a budget. It would work well for starting off with a podcast, Youtube videos, or other social media like TikTok, but I would recommend upgrading to a better microphone like a Shure, Audio-Technica, Sennheiser, or Blue microphone once you start to build up a following. Most high-end microphones start at $150+, so for those on a budget this will work well. The sound quality is really good, and most people may not notice a difference if they've never used a higher-end microphone before. However, for those of us who are used to the higher end mics it doesn't hold up. It provides a bit of distortion when you get too high or too low in pitch. I also wouldn't recommend this microphone if you are a gamer who yells a lot while gaming. When you get too loud it distorts the sound. If you yell a lot, I recommend getting a microphone setup that utilizes a soundboard and auxiliary microphone to give you more finetuning abilities. ... show more

    • Simple Set up and Does a great job picking up the right sounds.
I don't like being tethered to my desk, during office calls. I pace around the room as I talk. My sound comes from speakers, and I have been using the microphone on my camera. That works well, but not as well as this microphone. I'm not doing any kind of vlogs or anything like that. Also not using it for gaming. However, I think it would be great for both. For me it's mainly to be handsfree in work meetings. Base don that I really like it. Pros + Simple set up, Plug and play + Works with both my Laptop AND MY CELL PHONE. This has saved me when my internet was acting up, and I just switch ed my teams call to my cell phone. + Noise cancellation IS EXCELLENT. you can't hear my barking dog when the UPS or Amazon guy shows up. + It can pick up from a decent range 5+ feet even with me walking around my office. + It has a mut button on the Microphone + Doesn't need batteries + It comes with a nice desktop mount and if you use a boom like arm, it has the screw in attachment Cons' - for me with multiple input devices (I have a Bluetooth headset. the camera microphone, the Laptop Microphone, when I connect this sometimes Microsoft gets confused and treats it like a speaker. So My sound suddenly disappears sometimes when I plug it in. I can usually play with the settings of either my laptop or the application (MS Teams) I am using to get it to work. This isn't really a fault of the Microphone, so I won't ding it a star. It's more Microsoft's device recognition issues. But you should be aware of it because it is frustrating, and if you're not good with figuring those setting out, you may not be happy. Overall this is a great device and easy to use. My son wants it for his gaming, and I think it would do great for that, but I just use it in my home office for work, and I like it more than wearing a headphone all day. This microphone works. It doesn't do anything special. I had intended to use it with my work laptop, but the USB drivers on that machine aren't playing well with the microphone and can't be updated for some reason. Not the microphone's fault, but if there was an option to use a standard audio jack instead of the USB cord I'd have a better feel for the quality of this unit. I am also displeased to see that this microphone is no longer available. This makes me wonder whether this unit is going to last. ... show more

This is definitely good enough for podcasts. Everything advertised here is completely true. The sound quality is insanely good, you get wide gain controls, and a single button that controls both the mute and noise suppression. Noise suppression, speaking of, is pretty great. I absolutely love when mics give you the *option* to toggle noise suppression on and off so the addition of this to me is fantastic. Sound quality is GREAT, this tiny little mic packs a massive punch in fidelity. I'm legitimately impressed, as a composer and audio engineer. You definitely have to have your mouth pretty close to the mic for optimal quality, about two inches or so away - which loans itself even more to being a podcasting mic. All that's not even to mention the aesthetic; I absolutely love the gorgeous white finish of this solid and hefty metal little mic. ... show more

This podcast microphone is great. My microphone in my laptop does not function. I purchased this microphone to replace the defective one and use it for online meetings for work. It is easy to set up. I just plug it into my laptop and connect my headphones. The sound quality is outstanding, and the noise-canceling feature helps me sound clear even in noisy environments.
