Update: My original rating was 3 stars due to the problems listed below. I have changed my review to 5 stars based on what happened after. I received the refund from Amazon and Tonor reached out to me directly. They offered me a replacement microphone on top of me keeping my refund. They were eager to fix the problem, and in the end I had the original broken microphone, a replacement microphone, and my full refund. I was very pleased with this outcome as I was content with getting a refund, but they went above and beyond for me, a regular everyday customer. And of course, the microphone quality was excellent. I think this is a great option for someone who wants to start up streaming or recording as it includes everything to get started and has a good quality microphone. It worked great for me and I can't recommend it enough. My original review is below ---------- When I got the mic, everything was in good shape. The quality was new and very nice, however, I unfortunately had a lot of issues with the mic. With the pros; - Mic quality was absolutely lovely. I had been using a webcam for my audio, so the in-depth and bass-y volume was very appealing and nice. I reviewed my voice with recordings, as well as my boyfriend listening to it on a call. We both thought the sound was beautiful for the price point. - I enjoyed the packaging very much! Simple, wrapped nicely and easy to take out. Stress free. - The mic itself feels like it has weight. It doesn't feel cheap at all, which is very nice for a $50 item. Which leads me to the cons; - Since the mic has a lot of weight, the stand was having issues trying to keep itself up. They had latches and wedges, but it never stayed attached for too long. I made sure I moved it gently, even with everything tightly fastened, it would fall off or not stay in place. The main latch of the stand would not stay, even with all the bolts fastened. - Everything was new, however shortly after using it for merely an hour, it stopped working properly. I don't know if it was the cord or the mic itself, but something had a short and it started to freeze up anytime I plugged it in. I had the mic in one spot for a while and it worked, but the moment I moved it, then it stopped working. I tried all the slots on my computer, adjusted my sound settings, searched for any additional drivers, and I couldn't find an issues that I was causing. It felt like when you lose sound in your headphones and you have to wiggle the cord. I went into this thinking very positively. I figured I'd have issues with the stand, and truth be told, I'd be able to live without the stand just as long as the item worked. I don't think it's a bad mic, I just happened to have a lot of issues. What I can offer; the price point for the mic is great. Its got enough weight that it doesn't feel cheap, the sound quality was beautiful, and I enjoyed it when it worked. The minor issues is just a heads up for future buyers. I got into contact with Amazon, and they weren't able to get into contact with TONOR. I simply wanted a replacement cord, but it didn't seem feasible, so I had to refund it. I'd just be cautious with this brand.

The mic itself is great for the price, sounds good and still works like new after a year or two of owning it. Make sure you connect it to at least a USB 3.0 port (the blue one) or it won't even power on. It's rather chunky compared to a standing mic or those you find on the side of a headset of course, but that's the nature of the beast. The only real issue I have is the pop filter arm is difficult to pose, likes to droop, and loosens itself every now and then.

I really do enjoy this mic! I got it a few weeks ago and it's exceptional quality for the price and very easy to set up. It stays in its place on the desk without issue and is very clearly much better quality than the built in mic on my computer. I've used this in both Messenger calls with friends and Google Meet for schooling and it works perfectly with both. This is a microphone I've had my eye on for a while and purchasing it was definitely worth it! — Edit as of 12/29/25: After having owned this mic for years, I can still attest to its sound quality to price point ratio. However, the mic would occasionally peak mid recording, even when speaking at a normal voice range. The vice clip as well as the angling screws would loosen over time and would have to be adjusted every few days or so. I noticed that the mic liked to randomly stop working, but only on Discord. It would disconnect randomly, sometimes multiple times during a call. It could be easily fixed with a simply unplug and plugging back in. Just a minor inconvenience really. Especially since I never experienced the issue anywhere else. I have since given this mic away as a part of a bundle of unwanted/unused gaming equipment. The reason? My current desk has medal rods that run underneath along the under edge and the lip was not big enough for the mic to have enough support. I had even tried putting cardboard against the medal beam and clipping it against the beam and cardboard instead of the lip. This would work for a short period of time, but the mic would eventually fall, especially since the vice would loosen as explained above. I’m sure something sturdier like screwing a wooden piece into the desk might’ve worked fine, but I’m not fond of the idea of screwing stuff into a desk for a mic I had planned to upgrade eventually anyways, so I just went and bought one that sits on the desk. So, if your desk has support beams, be aware that you may not have enough lip to support the mic without DIYing something up. Regardless of these issues, I still swear by this mic. It is a great starter mic, especially with how cheap it tends to run these days. It offers quality sounding audio for a cheap price and can make the difference in a project’s quality if all you’re using now is built-in, or Dollar General level tech. It will last you long enough to see you upgrade it and then long enough to sell or give to someone else.

I purchased this for an assistant that wouldn’t shut up about having their own mic. With the cost of a good mic and desk arm costing a minimum of $500 the Tonor mic package is really good value for the money. The signal to noise ratio is good, nothing overtly obvious, no buzzing or humming. The overall tonality is good, better than a regular condenser and fine for your average VO needs and definitely fine for streaming audio. Of course you’re not going to use it on high end production, but we’re using it for broadcast news and it better than the junk mic’s provides by the network. The accessories while not super high quality do the job sufficiently and reliably. The arm is good, easy to position and holds readily. I’ll give this mic a B+. For its price range it will be very hard to beat. One thing to not however is that you don’t talk into the top of the mic as pictured in allot of these customer photos and as the assistant in my office insists on using it. The diaphragm sits just above the gain or “volume” buttons on the front. So you speak into the front, not the flat top. I’ve included a picture for clarification from the manufacturers website. If you speak into the top the diaphragm will be pointing at the floor and you’re recording will sound “off mic” (muffled, without clarity and pick up extra noise from fans etc).

I wasn't sure what to expect when I ordered this. I have a couple of podcasts and I sometimes stream on twitch. I saw the price and thought there wasn't anything to lose. I'm really pleasantly surprised. The first thing is how well it was packaged. The important parts are double bagged, in both a cushion wrap and a bubble wrap. It also has a nice instruction manual, it's not very long, but it helps you setup the microphone. I've included pictures of each part and it's wrapping. It was super easy to setup. I have a glass table, and I was worried that I might break it if I tightened it too much, but the arm holds steady even when you don't tighten it very tight. I tried to add the pop filter to the arm itself, but that didn't work out very well. I suggest attaching the pop filter to your work area and moving the mike to where you need it behind the filter. I didn't use the mic cover at first, and the mike will pick up ambient noises quite easily. So you definitely have to put the sleeve on. You also need to use the pop filter, I found that without the filter, the mic easily picked up my breathing. I have some blue branded mics, and this mic is easily as good quality (in terms of sound) as the blue mics. The mic is heavy, but the boom arm handles the weight very easily. One thing you should definitely know, the boom arm is only about 25 inches in total, so if you are planning on using this where you would like it to reach over equipment or you need the boom to reach more than 2 feet, then this is definitely not the boom you need. For my small setup on a table with a chair next to it, it's perfect. For this price, it's a really good introduction to the podcasting equipment world. If you start becoming successful or you have a really noisy area, this mike will pick up the noise without the filter and sleeve. It still picked up some traffic noise when a large truck passed by, but I don't think any mike will help that out, you need to put up some dampening tiles.

Honestly, i live in the Caribbean. Mic quality amongst pals isn't the first thing you look for, we all have generic if not above average gaming headsets which do the job. However, months back, my hyperx cloud 2's mic cover was no longer effective. and i was on the prowl for the next best thing, when i stumbled upon the Hyperx Quadcast. i was intriguid, almost devoted to the purchase, it had lights, it had mic mute it had gain control A SHOCK MOUNT of all things. So i set out to learn more about it, what made it so expensive..? Notice how all the above mentioned traits of the Quadcast is present in the Q9? This is what led me to my purchase, I Stopped at a crossroad when i decieded to watch this budget review on youtube about a 'Tonor Q9' which was supposedly one of the best mics he had ever seen at this price point. i. was. blown. away. The product had gone on sale and i pulled the trigger not too long after. THOUGH it wasnt the easiest thing to understand how to orient the mic on the shock mount everything was a turn away from greatness. Plug and play, I set foot in a discord call with my friends and I was showered with compliments and disbelief, " bro you soundling like your shave d bab and everyting yuh kno, like a new man. you fressssh" i heard that for the remainder of the night. The mic delivered 100%. The clairty, tthe accuracy, the seamless - ness of tthe boom arm all in this sleek and stealth 60 dollar product. The build quality can be defined as second to none in it's price range. IF you're looking for something new and refreshing which does the job on a budget level. i fully support your choice to purchase the q9. it's a no brainer, if anything you can alter your mic sound throught other means, but it works fine for me and is almost true to sound.

I am super impressed and very happy with the Tonor Q9 Mic and system. The MIc is really stylish and looks cool. I got this Mic system to start a Podcast and I figured it got a lot of good reviews and I figured for 50 dollars why not? Well I’m very happy and surprised. I sound great on the Podcast. I’ve listened to other Podcasts and found that this Q9 Mic is every bit as good. I think my voice sounds great! The Extension Arm looks and works great. It swivels 360 degrees. The clamp that hold the system up works nice and is very strong. The Pop Filter fit and works nice and everything about this home Podcast set up is really nice. I’m super happy and I’m proud of my Mic set up. It looks like a much more expensive DJ system but far less. Very happy and highly recommend. I also choose the USB system because I wanted something that would connect to my computer easily. It connected right away and all I did was plug it in and start the Podcast App and it worked great! The Cable is thick and I like that the Mic has a nice quality weight and everything about is top quality. Yes I recommend this Set-up for anyone on a budget and wants a good system, this is a great value.

The Tonor Q9 is a decent entry-level microphone, but it has several drawbacks for long-term use. The microphone has a good size, is lightweight, and has a very standard design. It is not very sensitive, and after about a year it gradually loses sensitivity, requiring higher gain levels. I’ve experienced recurring issues that require disconnecting and reconnecting the microphone, as it behaves as if the gain is set extremely low. The included shock mount is low quality and failed after approximately five months; a direct arm mount would have been a better option. However, considering the price point, the sound quality is good — again, for the price.
