Purchased for our son. He is extatic. Easy to follow instructions. Have your area prepped and plenty of room to lay out all of your parts. Decide which direction you want your bed set up. Half the book is for left side set up. The other half is for right side set up. Such a relief when I realized setup wasn't the entire booklet!🤣 I thought It would take forever. I do recommend at least two person setup to make it go faster. But it's fine with just one. I'm so impressed with the final product. Very sturdy and beautiful overall. It truly is a fantastic frame, I've had it for about a week before deciding to give it a full review. It's very sturdy and gives me a lot of storage for my tiny room where space saving is a must. I do however advise getting an 8 to a 10 inch mattress, anything thinner might be a bit too firm (this is made of iron after all), and working with another person as assembly is challenging on your own. Even the manual says it's a two person job, but all the parts are labeled, so with patience it goes smoothly. The reason I can't give it a full five is because it took me a long time to put together, but I definitely don't regret it, it was worth the time and money! (Also note, it comes in two boxes when it arrives) ... show more

It's took about 6 hours to put together, but it looks amazing. My only complaint is that there are 5 different screw heads needed to put it together so it's a lot of back and forth. Alright, so I'll start with the... negatives/complications: on the front of the instructions it tells you to assemble it with two people... and I did not. True, for most of the bed it was possible to do it solo; the part where it became impossible (for me) was assembling the long shelf. You see, they give you only three wooden dowels and I did not realize the problem of adjusting the piece I was working on for a better angle until SNAPSNAP. I would suggest the manufacturer include additional dowels because I wasn't doing anything that seems too outlandish (an additional suggestion would be to mark the pieces/screws on the plastic and not just the paper backing, I neglected to take a picture of the screws before ripping the paper off and had to guess... I would suggest anyone building it to take a picture before starting); I did get someone to help me put it on the frame, but apparently I give directions poorly because she wouldn't help me keep it level and I'm now a little paranoid about the longterm stability of the shelf (my 10lbs cat likes sitting on it and there's no problems so far, but it's only been a couple weeks). The key takeaway here is be very careful when assembling the long shelf and ensure your buddy takes directions well, especially if you're in a small space. Other issues were... I may have been getting tired but I stopped noticing the instructions point out hole orientation (which they did a great job on during the frame itself, I'm mostly referring to the shelves). Whether they're missing entirely or I was just too done to keep track... I wound up with several holes the wrong way round. Some of this I was just too tired to deal with, so I either drilled new holes and left it as is or did without additional screws (to no detriment so far, knock on wood). Assembly took me about 6 hours solo. The frame is very sturdy even with my creative liberties, and has a bunch of storage (more than I quite know what to do with at this point, really) which is essential in a small space. The frame itself is very affordable, but shipping and taxes made it feel a lot less so. My roommates have complimented it quite a lot, so it's possible I'll be sending them your way in the future. Anyone with a thinner mattress may want to be wary; when I first got it I was using a used 4-5" mattress and could feel the slats very clearly through it (I only noticed the slats of the previous frame if I was sitting in one place without moving for a long time). My new 10" makes it a bit tall for me, but there's no problems from the slats (though the pieces meant to keep your mattress from moving keep popping off... also second the person in the reviews saying 10" is as thick as you want to go). Overall, I'm very happy with the end result, even if the the assembly was a trial and a half. I have docked a star due to the relatively minor issues I had during assembly. ... show more
