  • For this price point you can't really beat the value & performance
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
I got an Amazon Warehouse deal, it looked brand new but was not in the factory box just a plain box. I couldn't be happier. I built a desktop and didn't need as meaty of a laptop anymore so I downgraded from a GE75 2080 to this. I was worried at first since the 1650 is basically the lowest performer out of all the newer nvidia chips. While that is true, it is a great overclocker and the CPU runs full speed (even on my larger GE75 I had to limit boost clocks to keep temps under control). I can play games on auto fans and CPU is usually below 80c, and GPU around 65c. With max fans on it stays much cooler than that! I know the GPU is lower end but I cannot believe how well this cools compared to the last few laptops I've had as well as how good the CPU runs in a smaller, cheaper laptop at that! I wonder if someone had put liquid metal thermal compound on this unit because that is how it appears to be running. It will play many of my games at max settings at 1080p, and more demanding games I can still play ultra settings if I lower the res to 720p which isn't so bad on such a small screen, or I can run 1080p and lower the settings to med-high. It helps that it's only a 60 hz screen so I'm not driving the system as hard as a high refresh system would be. Absolutely thrilled at how great it runs and how up-gradable it is. I put my old M2 and 2.5" drives in and bought another 8GB ram to bring it to 16GB total. ... show more

  • No regrets buying this.
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
I bought this laptop for school use and all I can say is amazing. I was coming from a HP 15 laptop that was 3 years old and going to this was like going from driving a Nissan Sentra to driving a Nissan Skyline GT. I use to turn on my HP laptop and wait a couple of minutes to sign in now when I turn on my GL63 I only wait a couple of seconds. The graphics are pretty stunning the fans do turn on quite a bit but I don’t mind that battery life is about 3 hours. I run VR machines and this thing doesn’t hesitate one bit it loads my VR machines right up and quick. I use it mainly for school work haven’t tested out any games on it maybe one day but that’s why I have a PS4 for. I am loving this machine for the money and the specs. ... show more

  • A Budget Power and keeps cool!
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
While it won't run the latest of 2019's releases on ultra graphics, it does play the current games on medium settings quite smoothly, and helps makes the colors and contrast pop! The Laptop itself is fairly light, with a pleasing, smooth surface and options to turn on and off the fans as required - which is good as while powerful the fans are on the noisy side, so they can be turned off if all you're doing is browsing the web and writing up reports or assignments, and then switch it on when you want to relax. I had issues with previous laptops getting uncomfortably hot to the touch, or even powering down due to overheating, and I have no such issues so far! ... show more

  • Great laptop for value.
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
Great value for the money! Had a HP laptop for 8 years before getting this one, had gone through 4 batteries because everytime i would overcharge the battery it would get weaker and weaker to the point where they only had 30 minutes of power. With this new laptop I love that you can set the battery to stop charging at 60 or 80%, saving battery life in the long run. The specs are good enough to run pretty much any new game that you want. Strong enough to do video editing which is what i mostly use it for. Upgrading to a 2tb HHD and another 8gb ram was easy. ... show more

  • WORST computer I (a Software Engineer) have ever owned.
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
I have owned many computers over the years, including 4 from MSI. I have only had small issues in the past, but after my experience with this one, I will never by another MSI or affiliated manufacturer's product. The track pad buttons sunk in one day, deeper on the left than right, for no apparent reason, still functions, but there is now a gap by the left button where stuff seems to get in, and the button has a mind of its own when it will work. The backlighting faded out early on and has never brightened back up to be useful. The case has cracked on the right hinge from normal opening and closing and occasionally gets hung up closing threatening to crack worse. The battery seemed good at first, but now dies very quickly. ... show more

  • Review after having this laptop for a few months.
Style: 8 GB DDR5 | 256 GB SSD
Pros: Keyboard is amazing, best keyboard I have used on a laptop Just the right size for laptop bags Build quality is great Can upgrade easily (no socket RAM/Storage) Cons: The way you upgrade is buy pulling the back off, and you have to be careful with not breaking the plastic tabs that hold it together. On Gaming Mode, the battery drains quick, 3 hours Id say Would like thunderbolt instead of USB-C Overall it is a solid laptop for anyone who wants to have a productive laptop with gaming as a hobby. ... show more

I use this laptop for Video editing and photo editing and productivity and some gaming Overall im satisfied with what this laptops delivers Decent heat management, it didn’t throttle at all with me.
