Literally one of the worst laptops I've ever owned. I am an avid MSI lover, so I thought buying this was a safe bet. But my god... What a waste of money this was for me. Nothing works on this laptop correctly. None of my settings stay (regarding refresh rate and graphics) regardless of how many times I change it. The thing is so freaking slow it's infuriating. I have a 6 year old, dinky i7 that runs better than this. It's embarrassing. Cons: • SSD bricked after a month. Sent it back to MSI to get an RMD. • Refresh Rate (+Dynamic) never stays changed. The screen flickers any time I plug in or unplug, which unnecessarily hellish. • The computer has ZERO multitasking capabilities. If you're running or doing something else, the computer just can run correctly. It takes FOREVER to windows update or driver update because it's constantly lagging out and fails to run properly. • The computer is constantly running at 50% memory used and I haven't a thing on the computer. The computer itself is so full of bloatware and crap that it can't even run a game correctly. • Windows Update always gets stuck on an infinite restart loop. I can not force restart by hold pressing the power button either to stop it. This gives me the worst anxiety around updates in general. Safe Boot is turned off. Pro: • The screen and keyboard is pretty... Big whoop. • Graphics work great when the computer wants to actually DO SOMETHING. • The fan boost fn key is pretty great and I feel all laptops should have it. ... show more

The laptop is cost-effective. Behave smoothly when dealing with some 3A games, e.g. Cyberpunk 2077. The major issue is the cooling system, front panel can get very hot when playing games.

Works great with Steam games. I needed a laptop with a gaming GPU, because my older i7 laptop with integrated graphics was too slow. Now I can play at full resolution without the previous lag. I also needed more disk space, and this one comes with a 1tb m.2 PCI SSD. There is a slot for a 2nd m.2 SSD, but there is no mounting bracket for it. I contacted MSI and the sent me the mounting bracket for free. 16gb of RAM seems like plenty, with two 8gb DDR5 memory modules filling the 2 available memory slots. It's upgradable to 64gb, which is probably overkill. I upgraded it to 32gb of memory, no problem. The Nvidia graphics with 6gb of video RAM work just fine with the Steam games I've played. The LED lighted multi-color keyboard is a nice touch. But the Wave pattern of lights is a bit distracting. It came with Windows 11 Home Edition with minimal bloatware preinstalled. It works just fine with Oracle VirtualBox to run Linux virtual machines. I took away 1 star for a few negative things. It's heavy at almost 5 lbs and not 'ultraportable'. The charger is big and heavy too. It also doesn't have 'all day battery life' either. But I guess that's to be expected considering the CPU and GPU specs. I plan to use it as a desktop plugged in all the time anyway, so no big deal for me. I got mine at a big box retailer for a rollback price around $800. So far, I'm very happy with this laptop and it's a great replacement for my older hardware. ... show more
