  • Good Gaming laptop
So far so good, getting 165 FPS on some of the newest games. That RTX 3080 really has some power to it and its not a Max Q. This is still a budget gaming laptop so when you can upgrade the RAM and SSDs. It has two M2 slots for up to 4TB total. The screen is one of the better features too, very good viewing angles brightness and color. Speaker are lacking but they are compact. Still better than my last MSI Steel series. Even has a fan turbo mode to draw out that heat with lots of heat pipes and heat sink. Very simple to disassemble to clean and upgrade. ... show more

  • Excellent Value
130w rtx 3080 is no joke. Pushes out great fps. Thermals are good too. Like the understated black mat look. Screen is meh and the keyboard is kind of mushy but that is to be expected for this price point and internals. Some corners had to be made somewhere. Ports are very basic but HDMI is still tried and true. Only other negative is getting the bottom off to install another SSD is a nightmare. Seriously MSI taking this is ridiculous in 2022. Still that graphics card and i7 combo for around $1800 bucks is insane value. ... show more

  • Works fast
I bought this for video editing and the preview and render times are fantastic. Cons: I wish this had USB C ports as well as a lighter power supply. The power supply weighs almost as much as the laptop! Tricky for me because I travel so much with it. Pros: Great speed and is durable! Video editing in Premiere and Davinci is flying. ... show more

  • Nice at first, then annoying, now bricked
I initially loved the specs on this laptop, and it's performed reasonably well, but I would not recommend it (and I'll never buy another MSI product again) for the following reasons: 1) the lack of USB ports makes connecting peripherals a chore, and only one USB port provides power 2) the power supply unit is ridiculously large, heavy, and poorly placed along the power cable 3) the HDMI port drops the connection easily 4) I've had issues running multiple apps and programs. The upgraded processor, memory and GPU should have no problem at all with the workload I typically run, but for some reason it struggles. 5) The battery was completely dead after 6 months. Most importantly, the laptop shut off completely today with no warning and is now apparently bricked. I've spent hours trying to resolve the issue, but it simply won't turn on again. Looking forward to a horrendous, and probably futile, battle with MSI to get it fixed or replaced, but as it's out of warranty I'm guessing I'm screwed. The laptop is barely two years old and it's now useless. Never again, MSI. Your products suck. ... show more

  • Muy buena, es mejor que lo que esperaba.
Para trabajar y jugar es buenísimo, el warzone 2 me corre a 1080 ultra a 150 fps

  • Is a gift
Taking apart laptops to extend storage sure is a pain and this one isn't quite different. Just remember 2 M.2 SSDs and no SATA if you want more than whatever storage on your C: drive

  • Good gaming machine but suffers from
Bought this laptop four months ago. Was very happy with it until the GPU fan gradually started rattling to the point of seizure. Ok, no problem. Got the replacement part with the same part number, and I thought that was the end of it. But no. Within a month of use, the new fan also starts rattling. The most infuriating aspect of this is the fact that these fans are not serviceable. As far as I can tell, taking the blower portion is impossible, which means that you can't even lubricate the bearing if you wanted to. Great specs for the price, but the quality of components, the fans specifically, is simply subpar. Should not even be an issue for the $2k price tag. ... show more
