    • Fast, inexpensive, enormous, loud under load
Paid under four hun for this, didn't really know what to expect. I had the MSI Ventis 2060 so wasn't expecting massive leaps in performance, just wanted smoother frame rate at 1440p gaming. This did the trick. It's paired with an i5 2600k and 16gb pc3000 ram. I dont have a ton of graphically intense games but here are a couple things of note that might if of use for comparison. Final Fantasy XV- I can run everything at max and all of the Nvidia options in-game like Hairworks or whatever and get about 55fps at 2560x1440. That's not bad. I never really notice a considerable difference with them on so I leave them off and get about 99fps. Looks gorgeous. Soul Calibur 6- wanted to throw this in because it has a resolution slider in it on top of just "maximum" settings. So it runs at max and with the resolution scale at 150 and I get about 120fps. Freakishly awesome looking playing it through steampunk and on my tv. Userbenchmark- took my PC to 105% and classified as UFO without me even over clocking it. That's about 12 percentage points higher than what I was at with the 2060. Bottom line is that so far it's been great. Keep in mind though it is absolutely huge. The specs say 12 inches long and it's every bit of that. Also requires both an 8pin and 6pin power connector so make sure you have enough juice. When the fans spin up they are LOUD. I can probably tweak this somewhat since I have it at default but when it needs to cool down and it starts up it sounds like back in the day when I had a stock cooler on my Phenom x955 over a decade ago- freaking loud. But that's because it goes from 'off' to what I assume is max rpms right away. Haven't had anything where it stays that loud all the time though. I'm guessing it starts that high and then adjusts down accordingly. I haven't really checked. Bottom line for me is that it's definitely worth it over the 2060 because the difference between the two as far as costs goes, is less than $100. Really no reason to get a 2060 when this card exists. ... show more

    • Get some case measurements before buying it... then make room for it.
My 1050 could handle Bendy on high without a stutter; but I was a little worried about Half-Life: Alyx. I was lucky enough to find the RTX2070 for $450 a few months ago (these video card prices are crazy) The card is nearly 12 inches, so I had to remove the hard drive bays from my case and lay the SSDs on the floor of the case. Once it was in, I was ecstatic. Only Half-Life: Alyx causes the fans to spin up even a little bit. This card is fast, stable and quiet. Really like this card. It has allowed me to run every game in full on ultra and nice FPS. Runs cool and quiet. I have no negative remarks to make about it really. Been at this for 49 yrs now and I've built thousands of systems over the years. I knew when I bought this it was a large card. And in my case I had no problem. (Musetex 907W case) So bottom line. I really like this GPU. The performance increase over my gaming laptop is great and it looks great as well. The only thing I have an issue with is the fact that it's loud as hell. I'll be playing something like Rome 2: Total War is more CPU intensive and the fans will ramp up randomly for no reason to max. It's nothing bad but it is annoying. Pretty conventional graphics card that can still be paired with a cpu to push modern day games at a 1440p scale.

You can get the far superior NVidia 2070 Super for $499. NVidia restocks these every few weeks. Why pay $150 more for an inferior card? With that said, this card performs wonderfully and has 3 fans to boot, which keeps it quite cool.

I purchased this card prior to the 3000 series came out. I got it for a great price and my benchmarks are in the top 10 percental.
