My Three Cents: My friend was looking for a new gaming laptop for weeks and he was super confused by all the options. He didnt know what to buy. I saw this MSI Cyborg 15 had a new RTX 5060 card and a good price, so I ended up just grabbing it for him. He totaly loves it. The best part is the translucent case, you can kinda see the parts inside. It looks so cool and futuristic, not like a boring old laptop. He was realy stoked about that. He's been playing all his games on it and says it runs everything perfect. The 144Hz screen is super smooth and that RTX 5060 card is awesome for the price. The Core 5 processor and 16GB of ram is also plenty for him, no lag or anything. The only thing is the 512GB SSD is a little small. He already filled it up with like 3 or 4 games lol. Its super fast when it boots up, but he probably needs to get an external drive soon. Im just glad he's happy with it. He was so stuck on what to get. This is a great laptop if you want to play all the new games but don't want to spend a crazy amount of money. ... show more

TL;DR summary: this is not a *bad* laptop but it does exist in a space where it’s overspec’d for lesser resource demanding games but underspec’d for more demanding games. Starting off with the good: - I *love* the translucent elements to it (this is a 90s trend I welcome back with wide open arms). - It was easy to set up - you’ll be prompted to log in with a microsoft account (typical for a windows computer/laptop these days). Once my laptop was done updating (this took a few hours), I checked to see what bloatware came pre-installed and it was surprisingly little: only “Norton 360 for gamers” - it’s a 60 day trial so I’ll most likely uninstall this in 2 months and just run with Windows Defender. There’s MSI software that’s included but I found this to be lightweight & unintrusive… and necessary to control specific features on the laptop such as LEDs on the keys. - LEDs can be shut off entirely or dimmed (via MSI software). - No obnoxious branding on the laptop. - Love the lower profile num pad. - Seems to be well made - nothing feels cheap here. A few “FYI” points to cover: - Speed seems to be OK but not unexpected given the specs. My 5 year old desktop is speedier but it was higher spec’d when I built it. - Gives off a decent amount of heat but hasn’t throttled under load. - I’ve used this for a few days now (gaming & otherwise) and it seems to handle everything I’ve thrown at it. There are a few things that I’m not particularly fond of. - This is a fingerprint magnet! Not in the sense of glossy/piano black surfaces but if your hands not 100% clean, it *will* show. - This is pretty under spec’d as far as current specs go. I’m honestly surprised you can still get 16 gb of RAM these days. Even 500 Gb storage isn’t much these days. Overall, it’s hard for me to recommend this device. MSI puts out a higher spec’d laptop (more ram, double the storage) for ~$340 more which seems like a lot but… honestly, that’s about the price you’d pay to upgrade the RAM & SSD. Bought some laptops for new game room to setup for the nieces and nephews. This is the perfect one for the minecraft station. Functionally it's perfect since it also has a dedicated GPU if they want to try other games too. The screen at 144Hz is fine for the youngin's. It'll make them appreciate 240+ later on in their life or if they compare it with the other laptops I got for them. The 5060 GPU also works great for Fortnite so that's a huge plus. All in all pretty happy with the Cyborg. Would recommend for anyone that's looking to get their first laptop ever. ... show more

To be totally transparent; I generally would not invest a lot of money in a gaming laptop because they are more than I typically need. Having said that, I can report that I am delighted in the laptop so far while admitting that I am not a power user and cannot provide nerd stuff like performance stuff. In my inexpert opinion, this laptop has a great graphics card (as fast as technology moves, it is not 'top of the line' anymore). It is still capable of exceptional frame rates, the onboard RAM is more than adequate for me, and the 512GB Solid State Drive (SSD) is more than large enogh for my videos and photos (I am an amateur photographer). I would encourage the nerdy among you to find technical reviews from people who specialize in such things. For the rest of us; this laptop is awesome. ... show more

The laptop style is really great, adore the smoke translucent accented led. The battery life is great, the performance is stellar for a gaming laptop. Hasn’t overheated, and I can run most things in ultra resolution so its speed is phenomenal for a laptop. If I have a gripe it’s the 500gb Hdd, that’s super low for a gaming rig. Anything less than 1TB should have been off the table for this otherwise overpowered machine. I played Cyberpunk 2077 and it performed better than my five year old desktop in FPS and Fallout 76 is maxed out and just flies… but I had to uninstall Cyberpunk’77 for FO76’s cache. All in all I do light gaming and a lot of photo editing on this and it flies like a jet with everything I’ve thrown at it. Even the WiFi is faster than everything else in my house. It’s built to impress, is hands down the best looking laptop I’ve ever owned, just plan on upgrading the ssd or investing in some external storage asap! ... show more
