I have very sensitive skin and typically break out with everything except my bar of plain white soap. The scent is not overpowering at all. It really does clean well and my hands haven't chapped or been dry since using it.

    • Less harsh chemicals...
This Lemon Verbena scent smells a little medicinal. Will definitely try another scent the next time. However, it does contain less harsh chemicals compared to other hand soaps and my skin does not feel dry after using.

    • Clean, crisp scent that washes off well - perfect for the kitchen or young children!
I love this soap. We use this Lemon Verbena scent in the kitchen, because I think the freshness of the citrus is a perfect compliment to anything we may be cooking. It's also a nice clean smell, which works to cover any unpleasant odors that indefinitely arise (burnt food, smelly trash cans and garbage disposals, etc). For hand washing, it is great. It doesn't work into a crazy lather but I like that because it is quick to rinse off. It has been especially wonderful for using on our young toddler as we try to teach her the basics of hand-washing. I don't feel like I have to spend forever with her hands under the faucet trying to remove the soap. Our hands never feel sticky or tacky afterwords. They just feel clean. The light lemon fragrance is just right. We have tried other Mrs. Meyer's scents (basil, bluebell) but I find those to be too overpowering. I almost get a headache from the amount of scent that lingers on the hands. This lemon is not overpowering - it is light, crisp, and refreshing. The scent wears off completely after a few minutes. I was surprised that this product has been rated so negatively by some. I saw how most of these poor reviews were connected to the quality of the bottles, primarily the defectiveness of the pump. I've been buying this product on Amazon for a while, so I can probably speak for the 20-30 hand soaps we have received. Only one time did I have a pump problem, but it did play out exactly how the other reviewers describe. After pumping the soap, the pump would not pop back up. It would remain in the down position. Anytime you needed soap, you would have to finagle the pump upwards and then push down. It was annoying. But again, this only happened once to me so I really found it to be no big deal. I would have rated this product lower if more of my soaps had this isssue. ... show more
