  • Good quality
Well built. Heavy duty. Not cheap at all. Easy to assemble.

  • Solid Value for the Money
Like most, I have been shopping for a cartop carrier for awhile. If the size of this one is right for you, Buy It. It is heavy, but that also makes it sturdy. It took about 45 minutes to put it together and another 30 to get it lined up and mounted. All the parts are packaged nicely, panels are packaged seperately from cross rails in plastic bags. Screws are shrink wrapped onto carboard, mounts are wrapped seperately (no loose parts floating in the box). The one I received did not have any blemishes in the paint and all parts were in good condition. I did not use the directions to put it together. Pretty simple once you lay all the parts out. Allen wrench for assembly was included. Before jumping in I would recommend running the screws into each cross rail to make sure they will screw in smoothly. Two of mine had paint inside the railing that semi blocked the threads. I was able to use the allen wrench to run the screws in and clear the threads (it is easier to do this before assembly). Once you start the assembly I found that hold the allen wrench and turning the rail was faster and easier than cranking the wrench around and around (this will make sense once you start assembly). I also like to put all the screws in halfway before final tightening. This makes placing the parts together easier. Two things I may do to the rack will be to possibly paint it as others have done (though it looks OK from the start) as a preemptive against rust and second is to run a bead of silicone on the inside edge of the wind deflector. It is spot welded so there is some vibration when you tap it. It doesn't seem to vibrate when driving, but again preemptive. I am very happy with the product for the money when compared to the Thule or others in that range. My modifications are well worth the difference in price and not sure I need to do them. Mounting was simple enough. I have a Lexus GX 460 with factory cross bars (cross bars are a must). The lexus cross bars were more expensive than the cargo rack. ... show more

  • Decent roof rack for the money.
I got the smaller version for my TJ. For starters, Amazon told me it was delivered on Monday, which it wasn't. Tuesday I started raising hell about it and of course it got here on Wednesday. Come on guys, no reason to lie to me. It was a pretty straight forward assembly even without instructions. At least the item had a few pics on the page and I could take it from there. I read all the reviews and sure enough, there was some rust starting on the inside of the tubes where they connect, so I slathered them up with silicon before I assembled it and sealed the joints with Scotch 33 to keep any water out of it. It'll get a coat of Rhino liner before it goes on the jeep. The construction was a little haphazard, it's slightly not perfectly straight and the welds look like they were done by a high school student even though I didn't see any obvious gaps. It also has a couple of dimples in the tubing I assume came from the welding jig before it was painted, and it had a few minor nicks in the paint. Still, it's pretty sturdy, all things considered, and should last a long time now that it's sealed up. It's a fair bargain even though it's only a couple of steps up from a shopping basket with the wheels knocked off. Is it perfect? No, but it's serviceable. I wouldn't put it on a new Jeep. If there's any issues once I put it in service I'll revisit this review. ... show more

  • Outstanding bang for the buck
The reviews on this weren't stellar, so I wasn't sure I'd be happy. Boy am I glad I took the chance. I really like the rack's overall look. It isn't identical to every other rack out there. Some of the reviews complain about the lack of instructions for assembly. Mine did come with instructions, but I didn't need them. Honestly, if you can't figure out how this goes together, you shouldn't be driving. There is LITERALLY only one way it could go together. Everything fits well, and it's a sturdy unit. If I had to change one thing, it'd be the angled faring in front. When I get in and shut the door, it rattles a little because it's just spot welded in a few places. I'll probably either Dremel it off or caulk it on. No big deal either way. This is a great little rack. The fact that it was so affordable just makes it better. ... show more

  • Beware

Where do i start? The hardware is not good quality and will rust. The metal is decent quality but the welds on the cross bars is terrible. The fairing is only tack welded on and vibrates against the rack. I got the extended version and it makes no sense that its not one peice for the sides of the rack, oh and the hardware for the extension was wrong and didn't fit through the holes that it was supposed to go through and the paint "powder coat" is no beuno to. I give it 3 stars because all these problems were fixable and it does look good and pretty solid but for 170$ you might just want to get a rola roof rack ... show more

  • Practical, useable, looks good and doesn't cost a small fortune.
Size: RR-001-ST-EXT
Just attached to my 2022 Ford Bronco Sport. With factory rails and attaching some Thule 450R feet to Thule wing evo-bars I was happy with the way this low profile rack attaches. Secure and no issues on parts I simply sprayed the assembled rack with some paint to help impede any pre-mature oxidation as others have complained about. I was looking at name brand racks and platforms, but with many of them costing between $780 to $1200 I just could not see any measurable differences by spending substantially more. Admittedly this higher cost racks use open channel cross members for using t-bolts to anchor stuff to where this one is simple round bars with no channels where you will have to use buggy cords and straps... but again spending extra for that feature was not for me. ... show more

  • Sturdy and useful
Easy to assemble. Kind of concerned with the rusted lock washers. Main pin is a real tight fit.
