I'm impressed with this comprehensive audio interface system. It consists of three main components, the microphone, the interface, and the headphones. The microphone is a cardioid condenser microphone with a pretty good size diaphragm. Recording some vocal track with Adobe Audition and Fairlight, the tracks were clean and lively, a little more lifelike through Fairlight. It mounts easily to the included mount and scissor arm for easy positioning. The pop filter screws on tightly and stays put once attached. The interace has two combo XLR/TRS inputs that can be toggled independently between mic and instrument, each with a separate gain control. There is 48V phantom power, which the included mic requires, and a loopback toggle for routing internal audio. (There are zero instructions for any of this.) There is a direct monitor setting to hear the input through either the monitors or headphones with zero delay. There are separate gain controls for the monitors (connected via 1/4" TS jacks, and the headphones via the 1/4" TRS jack. There is a bit of system noise when monitoring through the headphones but I didn't hear it when playing back the recorded tracks in Fairlight or Audition. The gain control for the headphones is a bit noisy and you hear a bit of static only when adjusting the gain. The headphones are decent and do a good job of reproducing a clean signal. They don't have the life that my much more expensive cans have but they do more than an adequate job. For the price, this system rocks. If you are a podcaster, vlogger, amateur filmmaker, this is more than enough to get you going. My reference system costs many times the price of this. kit and includes some of the best gear made running on a dedicated computer. At thirty times the cost, it should sound better, and it does. But this is a very usable system that, when set up properly, can produce some quite excellent results. Amazing for the price! ... show more
