  • Great Boom Pole
This is a heavy duty pole yet it's not heavy. The build quality is great and the materials are nice. I appreciate the knurled twists as they offer a secure grip. The foam grip is nice and adds a little bit of padding. It's about ten feet long and has been more than long enough for my needs. I use it with a Sennheiser MKE600 and it holds up great with no sagging. Overall a great value and a quality boom pole. I was looking into getting a K-Tek, but I feel this will serve me for awhile to come! ... show more

  • Wish I had this years ago
When I was a lot younger we used to make boom poles out of any hardware we could get our hands on, even modifying tools ourselves to attach microphones to extendable paint rollers just to get a decent facsimile of a professional boom for our videos. I would have loved to have had this back then. My job was always to hold the boom and it was always so uncomfortable. This boom is extremely long, exceptionally sturdy, features padding to help with fatigue, and it's the right size and shape to make it easy to hold for long periods of time. The padding also helps me hold it in the cold which is great in the winter or in chilly climates if you live way up north. It folds surprisingly compact for something so extremely long. I'm never going back to the DIY stuff now that I have one of these. Really exceptional product, and a good value too. Adjusting the length can be tricky at first but you get the hang of it fast. ... show more

  • **"Perfect Boom Pole for Professional Sound Capture!"**
**"Perfect Boom Pole for Professional Sound Capture!"** The Movo CMP-17 Boom Pole is exactly what I needed for capturing high-quality audio on my shoots. The 9.8’ length gives me plenty of flexibility and reach, while the aluminum construction makes it lightweight yet sturdy. It’s incredibly easy to handle, and it feels very professional when I’m using it. I’ve tested it with my Rode NTG and Sennheiser MKE600 microphones, and it works flawlessly with both. The extendable design and secure locking mechanism make adjustments quick and hassle-free. Highly recommended for anyone serious about audio capture in a variety of settings! ... show more

  • Sturdy but light metal pole with nice metal twist on/off sections. No cable management provided.
This is a sturdy well made extension pole for holding a microphone. It's made of a good but lightweight metal. The pole extends by loosening metal turning sections of the pole. The tip or end of the pole has the brass connector for screwing on the microphone clamp or holder/clip. This pole extends getting quite long. You may be a strong person who can put a fairly heavy mic at the end and hold it out without a problem.. or then again you may not be. I think you may need to get an additional clamp to use this pole with a tripod boom stand. I think you can use a side address or a top address mic but the clip/holder should be firmly attached to the mic. The end design is not a ball end adjuster but the threaded attachment is itself on a flat piece of metal that fits/slides into the end tightening knob.. it can be removed and possibly replaced with another that has a ball end function, I am not sure about that. I only know that the brass end itself can easily slip right out of the housing, so don't loose it if you remove that end. (see photos). My pole did not arrive with anything to attach the mic cable to the pole. I don't know if it was supposed to. I have some hook and loop wraps of my own and will use those. But some photos show the cable itself being wrapped around the pole. In other words there's no cable management that comes with the pole (mine didn't). ... show more

  • Sturdy and effective
I'm really happy with this boom pole by Movo...there isn't more to say than that. The arm extends relatively quickly tightens in place with ease, and supports the weight of my shotgun mic, the cords that run down the arm and connect to a hip-mounted sound recorder. It's of an appropriate size to get the mic in tight while staying out of frame and the weight distribution is not terribly uncomfortable. Although, to be fair I'm not trying to imply that the Movo CMP-17 makes my gear any lighter, it just doesn't add any undue weight due to the craftsmanship and the materials used. Overall, this is a great little boom pole. ... show more

  • High quality boom arm
This boom pole is nothing less than impressive. It has a large padded handle, extends to nearly 10 ft, has large knurled tightening points, and accepts 3/8 and 5/8 microphones. It's also very rigid once extended. Unless someone will be holding this, a stand, grip head, and boom pole holder is what will be needed. Perfect for out of shot microphones. A very quality product, that I'm looking forward to using more. ... show more
