I interpretted the clip in the drawing to be a sleeve opening upon which the mounting arm could extend but it does not. The extension is only about a foot which seems it will only work on a very small space.

…and was a bitch putting together. Let’s just say the parts weren’t as cooperative as I would’ve hoped. I do hope my laptop will stay put on this thing. It is a bit rickety.

I can say with confidence that the Mount-It! Laptop Pole Mount Tray has proven to be an excellent addition to my workspace after using it for more than 5 months. This tray has completely changed how I use my laptop because it offers stability and ease. This mount tray is quite well constructed. My laptop is kept firmly in place even when I change the height or angle thanks to the strong design. I can position myself optimally thanks to the adjustable features, which lessen the pain on my neck and back during extended workdays.     • This is a great mount
I'm actually typing this review with my laptop in the mount. I'm very pleased with this mount. It was easy to install with the included allen wrench. It mounted perfectly to a wire shelf I have a lot of my electronics on. You will need a philips head screwdriver for assembly. The mount's connection to the pole you attach it to is quite firm and I couldn't make it move with a reasonable effort. There are two sets of screws for this connection if the pole you are attaching to is a larger diameter. The three joints that articulate on the X axis are all fairly loose but I noticed no slipping with my heavy typing. The articulation where the laptop mounts is definitely stiffer. There is a limited range of motion on the Y axis and a full 360 degrees of roll-you probably don't want to use that much adjustment but it is there. The two arms that help to keep your laptop in place one As I am typing out this review I do notice some bounce in the laptop. I do have a fairly heavy hand when it comes to typing and I don't think it is so great as to be distracting at all but it is there and something you might need to consider with your use-case. ... show more

    • Excellent Articulating Arm for Steady Base
I built a custom computer desk last year and used another table top as my keyboard platform until now as I hadn’t found an articulating arm I thought was worth trying until I saw this. I installed this earlier this week and have been so impressed. I was able to squeeze my full sized keyboard within the flexible fingers on each side with my wrist rest at the base. While tight, it is very secure which is exactly what I wanted. The arm is highly adjustable to different usage scenarios which is very important. For those of us who are always thinking outside the box it is nice to know there are options with a product. One of my concerns with using an articulating arm for my keyboard was whether it would bounce or jiggle as I typed. This has not been the case at all. It is easy to tighten the adjustments of certain bolts to hold those joints in place while still having other move which allows me to articulate the arm out of my way. I have worked with several Mount-It! products and not only are the products themselves high quality but the customer service is amazing. This is an outstanding product by a dependable customer focused manufacturer. I definitely recommend this. ... show more

    • Great For Mounting a Laptop to Truss
I use the Mount-It laptop mount to mount a 15" Lenovo laptop to an upright leg of truss. The laptop is loaded with a PowerPoint presentaion and the mount allows us to position the laptop so that the speaker can see the screen (which is also projected on a set of auidence-facing monitors) and it is in the optimum position for operation of the remote. The mount is very well made and allows for a wide range of horizontal and tilt postioning. It also thoughtfully comes with the proper size allen wrench for tightening the clamp, as well as a longer set of screws for thicker diameter poles (which I needed because the truss rails are a little more than 2" in diameter). Wow, I really, really like this laptop mount. I have it on the side of my desk, and it was SUPER easy to mount. More, it is positioned perfectly, so that I can pull the laptop directly to me. One thing you will want to do is mount it to the height that works for you, because there is no lateral movement You can rotate it a lot, but not up and down. You can a little with but not much. The clamp is well made and very easy to install, and comes with the torq tool needed. I made sure it is very tight, and it has not slipped after long use one. Really enjoy this! ... show more
