I really like this boom! It is strong enough to easily hold a Blue Yeti mic, and the mic threads right onto the adapter at the end of the boom. The joints have adjustments to make them easier or harder to move. The built-in cable management is a really nice touch and gives the setup a clean look. The clamp is large enough to fit over my 2-inch thick desktop without any problems. My only minor complaint is the pin that goes from the bottom of the boom into the desktop mount is a little loose. The only time you notice it is when you have the joints pretty tight and lift the mic. Fortunately, I don't have to do that because I can swing the boom/mic out of the way.

Its a slick looking mic stand and has no problem holding up my fifine k678 mic. Its also one of the cheapest that has the option of though hole mounting instead of clamping. That allows a lot more flexibility in mounting if you have a desk you are willing to drill into. The build quality is a little meh overall. It looks better than its built. Lots of plastic. The cable clips on mine don't close super well and the metal tubes aren't pinned into the plastic joints so you can accidently pull them apart a bit while adjusting if you're not careful. If you're hoping this is a pro stand feel at this price, you're paying for a look more than a feel. However this is the cheapest tube style stand by a good margin. The other big gotcha that I think is causing people to say it won't hold a mic is that the spring tension only works one way. It's not obvious which way that is since the stand is symmetrical. The cords need to run down the back side, not the inside of the arm bend. I set it up the other way first and it was flopping over like a few other reviewers complained about. Once I turned it around and adjusted the tension on the bottom of the arm it was fine. The tensioner isn't exactly obvious either, but there is a big sticker pointing it out when you get it. For that $47 that I paid for it I'm pretty okay with the compromises. Functionally I'm not sure its worth double or more than the cheapo external spring booms.

This is the best mic boom I've ever bought, and it's super consistent. I've tried doing a lot of different setups, trying to figure out what it's weakness is. It does have some issues with heavier mics, but overall, the mic boom by Mount-It is sturdy, sleek, has a great base and smooth mechanisms make this a great buy.

This is strong and I mean strong and could be to strong as well, I’ve had this for 3 or so years and my boyfriend has seizures and has grand maul seizures and he’s hit the mic and it’s stayed up strong. Very sturdy and it holds a good amount of weight . He also man handles it and yanks it a lot it’s perfect for that big man 🖤

The tighteners don't hold the joints in place so I can't set it and forget it. The angles are awkward and never where I need them to be. It only works in a couple positions. My mic was always facing away from me on one side and when I tried to adjust it i broke the bolt off inside my mic.... This thing is useless unless you want an inflexible product.

Built my whole desk setup off of amazon and I absolutely love it. I through mounted everything to the desk so nothing had to be C clamped and is permanently affixed to the setup. I'll include everything I used in my setup. NOT INCLUDING PC, PC table, Mouse, or Keyboard. Audio Setup List: -MOUNT-IT! I do a lot of video work as well as a zoom sessions, and I need a way to have a good clear audio which involves having proper mic placement. I find that when I use a Teibble mic and I'm typing or using my mouse, or reaching for things that those noises are often amplified by a microphone that is sitting on the desk. Hence, I decided to get a crane type of microphone Stand. I was using a very basic one that has the springs, but every time I accidentally bumped it it would go boing… So I saw this particular unit for sale, and it looked a good quality. It was very easy to set up and is very well-made. if there is a negative, it would be that there's not really a swivel where the microphone is and you have to use a screw to tighten it down a little bit. That's it does limit the microphone movement a bit. Other than that you can preset the position and it works just fine. Still a great unit.
