  • Use as straight mike stand with boom, or a very TALL stand.
I was extremely happy with this product. Although some of it is plastic, much of it IS made of metal - the IMPORTANT parts - and it is more versatile than you think. You can use the boom to mike up an acoustic guitar, and the other section to do the voice mike. Or...you can hang the boom vertically and raise it up enough to reach the Jolly Green Giant if you wish. You can even put two mikes side by side if you want. The connections are solid, and when using a mike stand with plastic connections and adjusters, just remember they don't have to be tightened down to ridiculous levels. You don't NEED to keep tightening them until they break, because they will hold just fine with modest tightening. Just snug them up a bit, and then leave them be. By doing this, your adjusters will last a very long time. The biggest mistake people make with these is thinking they need to be torqued down everywhere like head bolts on an engine. Just an easy snug-down is all you need. Don't REEF them down, as they say. No need to do that. A gentle 'snug' is all you need. The stand comes with two holders for microphones and some fairly high quality wind socks that will fit over any mike. If you are looking for solid quality at a low price point, you just found it. The tripod legs are very stable, made of metal, and have plastic foot pads on the ends. The fact that it is lighter than a more expensive all-metal stand is a bonus. I wouldn't use it for a heavy metal concert with all the flinging and bashing around that goes on with such a thing, but for normal uses you won't get any better at this price. This stand will be used next summer in combination with a stereo/PA system at a wilderness festival for the famous 'DB Cooper,' the only skyjacker in US history who got away with it. I've tested it for both karoake and PA use for this event, and it works just great. If you want to know more about all that, just Google up Adventure Books of Seattle and you can't miss it. ... show more

  • connections have some wiggle, but seems sturdy enough
Two-mic stands are few, and I found a lot of mixed reviews about them. This one isn't perfect, but I think it will work for my needs. My husband and I both sing, he plays guitar, and I play mountain (lap) dulcimer, so we perform seated and need two mics apiece but don't want to deal with extra stands if we don't have to. Metal stand and boom arm seem like strong metal, although connecting parts are plastic, so I will try not to overtax them. You can adjust the angle and extension of the boom, which is good for our instruments. The top mic attachment is pretty inconvenient--it's hard to get close enough to pick up voices. A 13" gooseneck ($8.99) solved that problem--good thing I only paid $22 for the stand. Used at its shortest height, with gooseneck and boom projecting a short distance (aligned with a tripod leg), it does not seem tippy. I do notice a little wiggle between the post and the tripod legs and between the post and the boom, which I would rather not have but doesn't seem like a deal-breaker. We'll see, I guess. Note that the stand has 3/8" male ends--which is good for my German mics, but I had to use adapters with the 5/8" gooseneck. The included mic clips come with 3/8" female-to-5/8" male adapters inside (plastic)--and they grip mics pretty tightly. I'm not sure whether we will use the bright blue foam mic covers...would have preferred black. ... show more

  • ffordable and Versatile: Moukey Microphone Stand
The Moukey Microphone Stand with Dual Boom Arms is an excellent choice for those looking for an affordable and versatile solution to support their microphones. This stand has its strengths and some minor limitations, but for the price, it's definitely a usable option. Let's start with the positives. The stand's dual boom arms allow you to hold two microphones simultaneously, which is great for group performances or podcasting setups. The arms stay in place well, and the quick-release clamp makes adjustments easy for both standing and sitting use. The inclusion of 2 foam covers for your microphones is a nice touch, providing protection from saliva and moisture. The 2 clip-on cable holders help you avoid cable clutter, contributing to a neat setup. The stand's collapsible design is handy for on-the-go needs, and it can be assembled, transported, and stored with ease. It's versatile and suitable for a range of scenarios, from conference rooms and studios to weddings and outdoor activities. Now, let's address the limitations. The stand may not be suitable if you need to reach over more than 16 inches, as it could become unstable. It's also worth noting that the stand might require additional weight to prevent tipping, especially if you have a heavy microphone and a pop filter attached. The base's configuration might pose challenges for video use. The mic clips included aren't of the highest quality, but they serve their purpose until you decide to upgrade. In summary, the Moukey Microphone Stand with Dual Boom Arms is an affordable and practical option, particularly for those on a budget who are setting up a beginner podcasting or performance setup. It has its quirks, but it offers good value for the price and is a suitable choice for various applications. ... show more

  • Good Stand Great Price
I ve bought 3 of these to replace the flimsy Snare rim clips that came with my Behringer Drum Mic set. I love how light it is but still sturdy and the knobs hold it steady too. I don't recommend for heavy Gigging as the knobs are all plastic and will no doubt break. But perfect for a practice room . Good vALUE for the price ... show more
