Top Amazon Reviews

  • Casual review of the moto razr
Style: 2024 Color: Midnight Blue
The phone is a good performer, coming from an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I plan to use this phone as my main for the next few years. I have mostly pros for the phone with some cons. The camera shows great quality, the con for it would be no ultra wide lens which I think should be standard with the telefoto lens. I think it was a dumb design choice but maybe it was their idea of making the plus model more “premium”. With that being said, as a casual photo enthusiast, the tele quality is great and zooms in A LOT. I like the options that are given in the app and even recording with folding the phone. Battery life is standard and the screens have no issue that I know of. It’s been a few months since I’ve got it and I now have a slight line in the middle where the screen bends that I can feel with my fingernail. I definitely love the flipping feature and use the phone many times while it’s closed. Moto has integrated the screen well but there are parts that can improve, who knows if it depends on the app developers themselves. A couple of cons: Bluetooth. It’s definitely something that gets dropped frequently but I’m a wired guy for the most part so it doesn’t affect the quality too much for me. However if you do get the phone, double check that it works with your devices consistently. The second is probably a software issue. There are times when I want to wake up the phone and the screen stays black, and I can even feel the unlock with the fingerprint sensor! The workaround with this is to lock it again and either: wake the phone up then use the sensor again, or open up the phone and unlock it from there , but even THAT sometimes causes just the background to appear. It becomes a nuisance at times but I’m always able to get through it. I think this is definitely a phone to get on discount, I got it for about $600 with insurance as flips are going to have issues for sure. I hope this review helps get a point across. I really do like this phone and am glad that Motorola has continued to make them!!! ... show more

  • Best flip phone out now
Style: 2024 Color: Midnight Blue
I know a lot of people have a strong love for Samsung, but unfortunately, the durability and warranty coverage are often seen as questionable. I personally owned a Z Flip 5, and to my disappointment, it stopped charging after only eight months of use. After encountering this issue, I pursued a warranty claim for it, but they attributed the problem to the fact that I had "dropped" the phone and referred to the natural scratches that had developed around the hinge area. This experience was frustrating, and it ultimately led me to reconsider my choice in brands. With that said, I decided to upgrade to the Razr, and I was pleased to find that it felt significantly more durable and robust in comparison. The opening and closing mechanism of the Razr was noticeably smoother than that of the Z Flip 5, which added to its overall appeal. On top of that, the Razr seemed to possess a more solid build quality, making me feel more confident in its longevity. In addition to its structural improvements, I would also note that the screen appeared to be much smoother, enhancing my overall experience, and it had a better configuration with higher resolution that made content consumption more enjoyable. One of the biggest benefits I've noticed is the battery life; the Razr can easily last a day and a half with light to medium usage. In contrast, with the Z Flip, you MUST charge it after approximately 12 hours or so of similar usage, which was incredibly inconvenient. Overall, the Razr excels with better battery life, a superior screen, an enhanced resolution, and a more durable feel that inspires confidence. At this point, the warranty process remains somewhat a mystery for me since I bought the Razr new, but only time will tell if I will even need to explore it next year. Given my experiences so far, I am hopeful that this new device will prove to be more reliable and long-lasting than my previous Samsung device. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE!!!! Unless you want a major headache!
Style: 2024 Color: Midnight Blue
I changed carriers to reduce the ridiculous monthly cost of cell phone carriers. Even though I was still on the Verizon “network” (their towers), the company I chose made it so that only select phones work on their network. My current phone didn’t, so I bought this Motorola Razr+ 2024 flip phone hoping it would be similar to Motorola’s StarTac of decades ago, or even one of their somewhat later versions of the flip phone. I like the idea of a bigger screen on the inside with a decent-sized screen on the outside that you could easily see and use. The phone I replaced was a rugged, heavy-duty phone as I tend to be rough on phones. I bought Motorola’s protective case for it, and even purchased a protective belt holster, too. Although, there were functionality issues, and not as high-quality pictures as I had hoped, I kind of liked the phone, especially it’s compact size on my hip. It had its quirks, but every phone does. One day, I was working outside in and around my garage. I was bending down and bending over as I worked. Without warning, the phone fell off my belt – not just my phone, but the whole holster came unclipped and fell striking the concrete. I didn’t think much about it as it was just a short fall, and it was fully protected by the protective case and the holster. Later, when I opened it, I felt and heard what sounded like crunching glass. Several vertical lines showed up on the inside screen. Examining my phone to see how it could have gotten damaged with all the protection around it, I noticed that there was a very small, narrow, and minor dent on the metal hinged area. That “insignificant” dent had precipitated the unfolding catastrophe. That is a major design flaw. And why didn’t Motorola’s protective case protect that critical, key area? Everything was still functional, so I just continued working. However, when I opened the phone again, more crunching occurred, and more vertical lines appeared, plus some black areas appeared around the center of the screen – the death throes of glass LED screens. It only got worse, and functionality of the interior screen rapidly started going away. Soon, the black had spread across half the top and bottom halves of the interior, main screen. Nearly all functionality soon disappeared on the interior screen. Fortunately, the outside screen was fully functional still, but some apps only work on the large interior screen. I tried going online on Motorola’s website to access the Motocare Warranty I had purchased for the phone. Motorola’s website has lots of issues, and it was impossible for me to access anything regarding my phone let alone the warranty. I even cleared everything and tried again and again. Finally, I was able to find way to contact Motorola via phone. I explained the problem, and they seemed to be more than willing to help, although, I ended up getting hung up on three (3) times in a row as I was being transferred directly to their warranty department, although, I was talking to someone in warranty. The fourth time I was given a tracking number, then was hung up on again as I was waiting for someone else. The fourth person I talked to told me that my warranty was only good for non-damage even though I specifically purchased one to cover damage, why else would I purchase additional warranty coverage. This continued until I was finally hung up on the sixth time while waiting for someone that would help resolve the issue. Riiiight. It was at this time I realized that all the other negative reviews I had seen previously were there for a reason. The phone is pretty good, except for a critical weakness where it is most likely to get damaged, Motorola doesn’t protect that area with anything, Motorola’s website isn’t really functionally helpful, and their customer service is quite literally non-existent. Other than those few things, Motorola excels as a company. I paid more than a pretty penny for this phone and got a max of five months of use out of it before it became essentially of little to no use to me. Would I recommend it for others? Absolutely not. Well, if you wrap the phone in bubble wrap (I have found a case that does have a protective cover for the metal hinge), buy a non-Motorola accident warranty, and take on the liability that your phone can easily be damaged which won’t be covered by Motorola even if you buy their Motocare Warranty, then feel free to do so. Motorola is no longer the excellent company it once was. It has devolved into a worthless pile of excuses, passing the buck, and the opposite of customer care. ... show more
